Tires needed to be pulled off because the mud inside was throwing them off-balance and making the wheel shake above 40 mph. Went ahead and installed the Spidertrax spacers while I was in there.

So, I'll ask................

What's the story here?
Did it pull itself out?
Did you have to get help?

We had about an inch of rain that day. I went looking for mud and found a series of gravel and dirt roads along with a lot of mud. The 4Runner did excellent and found its way out of quite a few situations just like this one but I was good and stuck here.

I reached out to a couple of friends and sat there for about three hours before anyone was able to get there. My buddy showed up with his Explorer and wasn't able to get it to budge even a little before getting stuck himself.

I contacted a couple of towing/recovery companies in the area and and was basically told I'm f****d because of how far off the road I was (about a half mile). Well shit. Do I just lose my vehicle then? I was finally able to find one that said they'd be able to come out with a skid loader to pull us out but not until the next day.

I woke up to a call from my Explorer buddy that he'd put out an SOS on a local 4x4 Facebook page and had a crazy number of responses within the first hour. A couple of local guys were out there with their Jeeps about an hour later and were very confident about getting the Explorer out but weren't so sure about mine.

The Explorer was pulled out with pretty much zero effort. He then hooked up to my front anchor point and attempted to pull me out with zero results outside of a massive shower of mud from the Jeep spinning out. If he hadn’t aired down his tires he absolutely would have joined the stuck-party. The feeling in my stomach at this point is hard to describe but it wasn’t good. The guy doing the pulling didn't seem the least bit worried though.

He flipped around and hooked me up to his winch and pulled me out with what seemed like no effort whatsoever.

This was definitely a learning experience and I'll be staying away from the mudding until I'm able to add some tools to my bag for situations like this. On the positive side, the guys that came out to help invited me to join their group and attend some of their gatherings.

Fixed about the 6th annoying rattle/noise that's emerged in my 2019 4Runner. This time one of the clips holding the driver's side interior rear panel came loose which lead to rattling over any small imperfection in the pavement.

Appears clip was damaged from factory.

Fortunately, I was able to undo a few bolts and get at it without having to take off the whole panel, which was nice other than slicing my hand getting it into a narrow space.

2 hours 95% Highway. 2 adults, 2 kids moderate luggage.
Average about 70 mph, a/c on 1-2.
Flat terrain.
Sorry the photo is sideways.
City mpg I’m in the 18’s.

edit- <<<< I know it is crazy. I was driving easy to see what I could get. I changed the first line to say "2 hours" vs. 4 hours. The first two hours I was in the high 22's. 2 days later I swear I reset it at the start of the trip and that's what it ended at after 2 hours. No stops and I think I only hit 2 stop lights. Hwy 74/76 very flat, few stop lights. I hand calculated a couple of times in the past to see if the computer was accurate and it was very close. I'd like to do that same stretch and keep the speed to more like 65 and see if I can break 24 hwy. If I could do that trip in ideal conditions, higher psi in the tires, no load, 1/2 tank of gas, keep it at 55 with no a/c and no passengers, I bet I'd be at close to 25 mpg.

Modded a Tacoma molle panel for rear roof cargo area and then did a hasty paint on the rear storage boxes to see how I liked them blacked out before sending them off for powdercoating

Do you have a write up on how you attached the Tacoma molle panel? Thanks!

I don't, I kind of just winged it, haha.

It's this panel:
Amazon.com: Hooke Road Tacoma Overhead MOLLE Panel Storage Compatible with Toyota Tacoma 2005-2015 2nd Gen Double Cab 4-door Pickup Trucks : Automotive

Then I just went to lowes and bought some aluminum stock and bent it and drilled some mounting holes.

Cut the molle panel to slot around the aluminum mount since the molle panel is right up against the headliner on the edges. And then bolted it all down

Will eventually get the brackets powdercoated when I get everything else done
