3d printed shift knob with switch to work with anytime backup camera

I finally got around to 3d print a shift knob with a switch to work with the anytime backup camera.

Printed it with PETG and hope it does not warp in the heat. It's been sanded, hence the matte finish.

Have been looking at local shops vs. SafeTCaps vs. welding in steel plate myself. I am based in PA so not sure if I would pass inspection even with a repair.

Thought I did a good job vetting the frame before I bought the truck...wrong. Stay away from northeast frames lol

Finally got around to getting my Durobumps installed, 4.25” rear, HD Overland Design sway bar links, HD Mr KDSS PCK and diff drop. Center of hub to top of fender arch: front 23.25”, rear 24.25”.
Curious for those with a 3” lift what your distance is from the bottom of your bump stops to the top of your axle.
My 4Runner rides slightly better after these mods.

Changed out my Bilstein 5100s up front, which had over 100,000 miles on them, and also upgraded the OEM springs with some from Toytec. My lift changed from 2.5”/1.5” to 3”/2”. I added a diff drop and old OEM skid plates. The RCI skids are too heavy for my casual type of shelf road driving nowadays. The entire process took me and my dad about 7 hours. The KDSS system made things interesting, I’ll tell you that.

I decided to change out the front shocks and springs in preparation for my 9-day AZ Strip trip this May. I had one of my rear Bilstein 5160 shocks break in 2021 on the Camino del Diablo, with over 80,000 miles on them. Bilstein warrantied my rear shocks based on the failure mode, but did recommend changing them after 70,000 miles of use. It was time.

My dad has a ton of tools and experience

Just delivered....have to catch a flight...so I will put in this weekend. Went with the 4r specific model...not really sure why everyone goes with the 34r.....this one has 98.8% of the cca of the 34 ......but it has 15.6% MORE reserve capacity....
And yes the posts are correctly oriented....it is a bit heavier though....and no spacer needed.

That's pretty cool! Was thinking of doing the same but for my front camera. I don't know how to design/3D print so was thinking of just buying the MESO stealth knob.

Designed and printed a positive battery fuse cover to work with my SDHQ battery terminals.

My electrical OCD says, "don't leave energized terminals exposed!" So this has bugged me since upgrading. I don't recall if the OEM cover no longer fit/functioned, I broke it, or I lost it...but whatever, these terminals should not be left exposed.

Made similar covers for my PowerTrays circuit breakers too.

Currently made of PLA+, which I know won't hold up. Waiting on a delivery of red PETG.

I had mine done with paint correction back in 2018 a month after purchase. The dealer cleaning swirled the clear coat so bad I had to do it. Mine is still holding up great after 4.5 years.
You’re right,pics don’t do it justice. It looks much better than any other black 4Runner that hasn’t had it done.

Yeah I love how good Nautical Blue looks when it's all shined up.
