im trying to find a way to bolt the base under/outside of my dual jerry can holder, but it has to be inconspicous, so i got some idea's in my mind.

i have my hilift base around and some wood. I just need to figure which hides better in the truck..lol.

I didnt think about that empty space where my spare tire use to be.

That opens ALOT of possibilities..

I'm gonna have to crawl under there this week and see what i can do.

Not trying to break up the thread however I have a question. I have been making some license plate brackets for SSO HYBRID bumpers, without a winch/fairlead, for 3rd gen Tacoma trucks. I know these will work for any aftermarket bumper with the industry standard 10 inch fairlead bolt pattern. Mount height is adjustable for different bumper configurations. I am retired and have made a few Toyota items in my home machine shop. I am making less than 20 of these and am very curious if there is any interest in them. These are solid mount and are not hinged. They are machined tongue and groove fitted assemblies, from grade 6061 aluminum, with stainless assembly and license plate screws. If anyone may be interested please pm me. This is hobby work so not looking to make these often. They are strong and very stiff with no flex. Just not profitable to make long runs as these are labor intensive. Most people mount a winch anyway and don't want to cover the fairlead opening. Thanks.

recently removed the OEM TRD pro roof basket and ended up stripping a bolt. after hours of trying to get it off, ended up having to rip off the plastic cover around the bolts and use a vise grip to grab the bolt and remove it . issue is that in order to sell my basket I need that plastic piece and can not find a part number for it anywhere - any help? it's for rear passenger side if that makes a difference. TIA ! :cheers:

Gave our 2022 ORP in metallic black a foam bath. It’s been about two+ mos and needed a lot of bugs to be washed off. Unfortunately, I am coming across more and more tiny rock chips and scratches. Oh well.

Love seeing all the cool mods and upgrades everyone does to their rigs!

I just picked up a 2015 Trail edition so today I've put in a big order for parts to do all the basic servicing - gaskets, filters, plugs, fluids etc . It's in good shape but I don't know the history so I'm doing everything as a baseline and to give me peace of mind. Not to mention, its fun to tinker on the truck.

Floor mats are on the way also and I'm still deciding which phone mount to get.

There are no routine gaskets to be replaced unless you are talking about drain plug washers. This vehicle requires zero tinkering maybe some mods. If you like repairs - should of gotten a Jeep. J.K. welcome to the forum and the family, Lazwa.

RE: phone mount:

I got this one for my wife's RAV4. I just installed it last week and it is really nice. Used the pedestal mount to install a Garmin 65 GPS unit (She didn't have Navigation in the RAV) and the vent clip for her phone. Both worked REALLY well!

I did have to use some superglue to mount the pedestal mount to the console.

BTW: The Garmin 65 is much nicer than the factory Nav in my '19 SR5 Premium!

Took it to the dealer because the alternator blew at 65k.

Good thing I bought the extended warranty when I bought it. They called saying they are going to cover the alternator and the battery, which is nice. Taking 3 days to get parts is not.

At least they gave me an SR5 as a loaner, so it's not all bad.

Convinced the wifey to install some upgrades. It’s been a good month: for Mother’s Day she wanted to go to a higher altitude lake for some fishing. We got high centered on some snow and after I dug us out she replied “Well I guess we need a lift and a winch so this doesn’t happen to me alone.”
For Fathers Day we went for a day long off road drive through some wilderness where the skid plate kissed some rocks. When we got home she noticed a chunk of the bumper missing right below the light and said “Looks like we need a bumper and some skid bars, or plates, whatever they’re called in addition to our lift”.

Can't you just get what you need (want) without building a case for it? Just work extra shift or something, no excuses needed.
