You can actually call BFGoodrich customer support and they will use their chart to tell you the correct pressure when running non-standard size tires, or different load range.

Went camping yesterday and snuck in some off-roading. Found out my bump stops are a tad short (energy 8.9104 with the first rung cut off). Hit some washouts at speed ~40mph and the front tires would come up and hit the wheel well. I’m on 285s and I guess I shouldn’t have cut my bump stop shorter but it was practically riding on the bumps when they were full length. So I guess this weekend I may pull the coil and cycle the suspension to see how long of a bump stop spacer I need.

Good news is that the energy bump stops and Bilsteins 6112s are like butter together. The front end floated over everything and the bottoming out wasn’t jarring like stock bumps.

i added some 1/4" plate to help with the same issue running 34's and duro bumps. i didnt want to limit uptravel but it is what it is.

Now it comes the time to work on the many hints from the forum.

This weekend there were:
Apply paint protection film under all four door step panels (against paint damage / rust). Before mounting the panels i sprayed fluid film trough the clip wholes inside the rockerpanels.
Extension of the air-conditioning drain hose, so the condensation does not run onto/into the frame.
Various paint chipping repaired.
Remove the OEM Predator Steps, maybe in future i will cut off the steps and reinstall only the tubes.

The next few weeks, especially before winter, there is still a lot to do.

Installed a couple of things, one useful, one a bit more cosmetic-

I installed a dual USB plug in my center console. The 4Runner sorely lacks some USB plugs and the one provided in the front dash for audio input can charge, but is woefully low powered. I've been using the cigarette lighter and eyeing the two blank buttons in my center console so I finally bought a dual USB plug and installed it-

I tapped electrical off the dash cigarette/12v and ran the wires inside the console to the button blank. I had to fiddle with and replace a faulty connector the plug came with, but it works now and I am pleased. Note the rubber flap to keep crap out of the plugs (not like I let the inside get dirty or anything...).

In the back I also installed something a bit unnecessary but I just liked the idea. It's a cover for the rear passenger storage compartment near the back hatch-

Before (note the metal latch catch already installed in the top center of the space).

It's a nifty little add-on that cleans up the back. The large cover pops off with a press of a button, and the lower one can be popped out from the inside. I'm happy.

On the other side of things that matter- I recently got a new battery, 4 new Cooper Discoverer tires, and got a full engine tune up and sway bar links and bushings (the bushings were gone...). Soon will be a full deep clean and detail and she'll be lookin' pretty good out there again.

Drove 1243 miles from our ranch in Stevensville, MT to our home in Fullerton, California. While doing the drive, a friend whom I’ve been helping with his search for retirement real estate property in Montana sent me a fly over video of our property. Now you can see why I can’t get my wife back down to Fullerton, CA:

The 4Runner performed flawless and it’s right at 340K miles. I stopped at the Dog Valley turn off from Interstate 15 and cleared the on-ramp side of aluminum cans after a a restroom break. I picked up approximately 100 cans. On a previous trip earlier in summer, I cleared the off-ramp side plugs a couple hundred yards of Dog Valley Rd to the west and stopped counting at 200 cans. This is jus the south bound side and I don’t bother picking up glass or plastic bottles as they take up too much room. Just amazed at how some people are just pigs. People literally just dump bags full of trash. Oh and Bud Light wins the can count by a large margin. The recycling fees will cover the fly line I just bought.

I will try to explain, sorry my English ist not the best.

The last few days there was a relatively large amount of water coming out of the ac drain hose. All the water drips directly onto the frame, then runs into the frame and comes out the bottom. This can cause the frame to rust as well.
To solve the problem, a hose extension is attached so that the water exits directly below next to the frame.
Tacomas and fj cruiser seem to have the same problem, there are several articles on the internet. See also here with pictures:

I simply put a piece of 10mm plastic tube into the AC rubber hose and attached it to the bottom of the frame (black tube in the picture above)

I had a new set of tires installed. Back to General Grabbers, the favorite tire IÂ’ve owned out of them all. I went with stock size as I never really saw any benefits of going to 33s after trying them in different iterations. Just more weight really. And I do some heavy and difficult offroad driving. I went with C load range though and they feel great. Not even close to as harsh as the E coopers I tried. And not even close to as heavy, and only 6 lbs heavier each than my last P tires.

I also talked to a tech specialist with Continental, Generals parent company, about proper inflation pressure. They say 44psi to match the 32psi P tires Toyota speced for the 4Runner. Set and they feel great there too. IÂ’m happy.

Found it. Easy enough, has everything sitting in my drawer to make this work. I could see surface rust already starting on top of the frame there.

What size hose did you use for the drain extension? Thanks!

I used a black plastic tube with 10mm outer diameter, which should be 0.3937" or about 3/8"?
I was able to insert this tube directly into the rubber hose, and so far it has held without a clamp.

For a hose clamp i would probably have to use a firmer tube or some kind of transition piece like others have done.

So safe to say the factory tube opening is 3/8"? Just want to confirm as I plan to use a hose to hose coupler with some clamps. Just want to make sure I buy the right size. Thanks!
