What bike rack is that?

It is the Black Widow heavy duty version 600lb. The bike is around 425 lbs and the carrier itself is close to 100...so slightly over the 500 cap of the hitch.

I used a Mototote brand for several years (about a decade ago) and have probably carried bikes at least 5000 miles total over the years with no issues.

The biggest thing is loading and unloading and being very careful.

I don’t think you’ll find much to increase power, short of a supercharger. I did install the Pedal Commander and I find that it removes some of the dead space or lag on acceleration. This vehicle was not intended to be speedy.

Small details, but it took all afternoon to transform the Roof Drip Molding. I think so i can leave them open without covers, these don't hold properly anyway and with the dirt underneath the rust was not far away.

But did you do a test drive before you bought it? Just enjoy the comfortable cruising. Today i had one of the evil looking dodge durango's in my rear view mirror on the highway, but he stayed decently behind me (at about 110kmh).

It goes on, today i finished the rust prevention on the tailgate garnish. By repairing the already existing paint damage, applying paint protection film. in addition, i cut rubber washers and attached them to the bolts so the garnish has more distance to the paint.

Maybe i'm pushing it too far? But at the moment i hope my 4 runner lasts forever... :lookout:

Sorry, it took me so long to respond. Stock rims, and stock-size tires. 2.5" Bilstein 6112 in the front. Due to the front bumper and winch, only got about 2" out of it. 2" OME rear springs, with Bilstein 5100. Overall, I am very happy with this height and stance.

New gear knob from a billiard ball, because the chrome is flaking off the original knob. The previous owner probably had his hand or even the finger ring on the gear knob for the last 35k miles.

spent day modernizing (less madmax vibes more streamline) the shrockworks rear bumper by:

0. tinted the auxilary backup lights in bumper
1. Replacing all the screws with stainless button heads.
2. remove hiliift
3. hidden shovel mount
4. hidden black hilift jack pad/base
5. spray painted the propane straps to black (not pictured).
6. remove shackles
7. remove tow hitch
8. installed driver side ARK splash guards (which sucks if you have KDSS and remote rezi's)
9. painted the gobi bracket mounts to black.
10. added offroad flag mount (hidden)
11. added 3d printed badge

its all the little things.

Thanks for sharing. I’m planning on doing this mod soon. I like the location you used. Most people I’ve seen that did this usually put it on one of the rear pillars but this seems like a more convenient location.

It's easier to run the cables only in the tailgate, and you only need the control when the tailgate is closed. The only disadvantage is that a stranger could operate the buttons from the outside with the window open. But with the window open, the vehicle is not secured anyway.

Finding real estate to mount things is a pain sometimes. This was the spot I chose. Easily accessible, not in the way, and wiring was fairly simple.

I ran this same lift on my 1995.5 Tacoma with no issues. I decided to run the same lift on my 4Runner. It has been regeared to 4:88 Yukon gears. Feel free to flame!

Raptor Lights Installed

Installed the Raptor Grill lights, dark tint and amber lights and tinted the 3rd brake light.
I had a hard time figuring out a fuse to use since I wanted the lights on all the time. Then noticed I have a fuse in the interior panel for KDSS but have a TRD Pro so no KDSS system. The lights were generally great quality except the truck side harness was not sealed and did not have srink wrap on the connectors. Pulled the pins out, this is a basic molonex connector so a small screwdriver in the end and compress the plastic barb and they pull out from the back. Added srink wrap with glue included and put the connectors back on and then heated them in place over the back of the connector and plastic sleave on the wire.
Routed the wires and had to extend them as they did not reach the fuse panel.
Removed KDSS fuse, the Toyota mini fuse does not fit the fuse doubler from the kit as it has a bayonet in the middle, so had to get another fuse; it did not sit very well either but made the circuit work.
All in all this is the second mod and next will be the side mirrors and full LED interior. Need to decide if I do Red or 6000K White. Footwell and under seat RED Led lights are also on the list.

If anyone has a link for LED door puddle projector lights with TRD or something other than TOYOTA I would apreciate it.

Why not go with the Meso map & rear dome lights that do both bright white or red at the touch of a button?
