What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Swapped my 6 year old, 100k mile Bilstein 5100s with a set of Dobinsons IMS I've had sitting in my garage since November. My spring compressor didn't quite fit, so I did the sketchiest thing I could think of and cut it down until it did. I do not recommend.

Also the coating on my Dobinsons coils has failed after 4 years. I do occasionally drive on the beach (like once a year), but they don't use road salts here on a regular basis. I probably should have sanded them and repainted them, but I didn't have that kind of time this weekend.

Other than that, it's not a bad job and I'm pretty pleased with the results.

Oh, and FJ Toyman rear shock skids. 100% recommend.

I'll let you know. I currently have my KDSS valves open, so any smoothness I feel right now could be attributed to that. I had a little bit of KDSS lean before I swapped shocks, so I'm giving it a chance to even out and settle a bit before I adjust the height.

Looks great! I dig the clean look without rack. I’ve got the kit and keep thinking I will remove mine too, but it does help “hide” my two antennas.

Dang i just did the same like Monday. Took it apart and going to paint it. Sticker kits on Ebay are like $6, found one in white and thats what i want.

What took me so long?

Did the H9/H11 conversion today...what a difference! The light isn't LED white, but the color and overall light projection is heads and shoulders above the H11.

I've read they burn out a bit faster, so I'll carry a spare H11 just in case.

I was getting about 11-12 months per bulb set when I was running the H9s. I think I ran those for almost 3 years before I ended up switching to the Hikari Eyes of Megatron LEDs. They are slightly less light than the H9s (so long as you position the diode correctly), but they are a crisper white and have lasted 2+ years now.

Installed auxiliary reverse lights. Took way more time that I had planned, but got everything nice and tidy: tapped into the yellow and white wires from the trailer harness (for some reason couldn't get ground from the frame), ran the wires up above the spare tire carrier.

Unfortunately, the lights from Amazon are too focused, makes it such that you see two bright spots in the camera and have a hard time seeing the actual ground... May end up sanding the lenses in attempt to diffused them, or maybe cut up a milk jug. ��

Mine have been in there over two years now but I don't do a lot of night driving. Now that I said that they will probably burn out tomorrow lol!

I installed my VLEDS reverse light kit finally. They went in pretty easily. Inwill check them out once the sun goes down but they are definitely brighter than stock just looking at them in daylight.

I learned a very expensive lesson a few months back. Diode dynamics backlight products do not work as brake lights or they will burn out.........

So now I had to buy another set of diode dynamics ssc2 pods w/ red backlight and make a brand new wiring harness (with quick disconnects) so they function as rear driving lights and reverse lights.

This is not diode dynamics fault for me using their products in ways it was not intended.

Also, i recommend flood lenses for any rear facing light. Sure you won't be able to see far, but everyone will see you. Also, floods work well with our back up camera's.

Chase lights are KC cyclone v2's... These are my new favorite chase lights. Small, low power draw, and bright, but not seizure inducing. (replaced diode dynamics ssc2 pods). Tempted to change the amber lenses to red so i can use them as road legal rear facing fog lights.

Morimoto v1 rear lights. Yeah, i know alot of people don't like the style, but people don't realize how bright they truly are. Have had them since they came out. They are really bright, and have a deep red hue.

lasfit door bulbs, and license plate bulbs (reflection on floor) round out the rest of the picture.

All auxiliary lights are hooked up to a lasfit 8 gang switch panel.

not sure man, maybe constant on and off, maybe change in voltage, but both right and left lights died around same time (very odd). Maybe living in the rear bumper is too harsh for them...who knows.. It's my guess that its the constant on/off that was occurring 24 hours a day and every day.

When i bought new lights, i tested them in the old wiring harness (wired as brake lights) and they worked fine so I figured it was using them as brakes that did them in. So i basically built a new wiring harness and use them as rear running lights and back up lights (like they are suppose to be). Yeah, the backlight doesnt work well in day time or dawn/dusk (another reason went back to using them as rear driving/backup lights). Raptard lights are brighter.

my buddies BD's in strobe mode wanted to give me seizures. Also me running another set of ssc2's on the roof, made me realize they are overkill for rear chase lights.

RIP little lights (they are both dead)

I have the H9 bulbs and cut the plastic tabs as well as I could with the tools I have. Hopefully it's enough to get the bulb in the housing.

Excuse the desperate need for a car wash, but installed a custom fabricated rear bumper my friend made. Replaces the rear valance to match my front SSO bumper.

He may consider duplicating these if there’s interest. Does require bumper trimming and drilling into frame
