What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Yup, I absolutely like these 4runners without a fat lip.... I'm gonna have to do that swap to my '99. I'd say that's an easy facelift win.

Oooh I'm planning to do the same plus the roof with Kilmat. Already did the 4 doors and that made a huge improvement. How does it sound afterwards?

Well my tires aren't loud and I can't really say I've had a big issue with road noise to begin with so honestly, at this point, it's hard to tell. I've heard that the doors make the biggest impact so maybe after I do those I'll notice a bigger difference.

I'll be picking mine up from the shop; getting a new alternator and belt. I put a new battery in it a couple months ago when I bought it and the other day the battery light came on. Did a check with a multimeter and found it was the alternator. Thank goodness this decided to act up now and not on my Moab trip in May. *whew* I've got skids on the way, need to find a gas can mount for my roof rack since bumpers are such a long lead time. Gonna install my Shrockworks bumper this weekend

Been getting ready to install SPC UCAs which arrived but one of the boots arrived with a little slice in it. They are the tubular arms but with the newer style bushings and greasable joint. I was expecting the new flat cast arms? Or they are still tubular for 3rd gen/tacoma? Any benefit to those flat ones other than strength?

Me too. Getting a junkyard Thin Lip would be nice while trying to figure out whether or not i really need a plate bumper/winch would be nice, but what to do with the Limited fogs?

Got under ROSCOE to check last year's frame repair. Still looking good. Shop did a great job. Wire brushed some surface rust in other areas of the frame to help it last longer. Coated with Rust Reformer. One day when I have time will do it right. Have read all the Rust Repair / Prevention threads. Also ordered a bunch of PARTS as about to turn 300,000 miles. I hope to drive this one to 500K.

Swapped out the front sway bar end links with some OEM style. The aftermarket disconnects I had on there were rattling like crazy, one of the lynch pins was completely MIA, the other broke during removal, and I had to cut them in half with the angle grinder to get them off. I know the vendor on here sells an updated version of what I had, but with the way they rusted and fused together here in CO makes me inclined to not buy another set.

Swapped out the original rear speakers with some new JBLs. Never had the rear panels off before, quite easy to remove and put on. Cut some mounting brackets out of plexiglass to mount the new speakers.

Refreshed my vacuum hoses with some silicone hoses for Silicone Intakes. PM me if you want to take the rest of what i got off my hands. Lots of 4mm and 6mm and some 10mm.

I'm pretty sure they're still tubular for 3rd gen 4runner/1st gen tacoma

Installed the Sherpa Antero today, and taking it to get repaired Monday! I lost one of the bolts for the bars somehow, need to reach out to them and order a new one.

I've gone full ADHD spazz out and started about 10 different jobs at the same time and lost track of what I'm doing. Got the needle bearing out at least. Pretty easy with the ECGS tool. The new bushing is longer, I wonder if it blocks those what I'm guessing are little oil ports behind where the needle bearing went?

Were you able to mount a larger sized speaker than stock sized?

I replaced my front and rear speakers with 6.5" JBL speakers and they fit just fine in the back with some modified adapter plates I bought off of ebay. I plan on 3D printing some new mounts for both front and rear to replace the janky-ish setup I have with them now. But the 6.5" definitely fit, although if you try it I'd just be careful with the depth of the speaker.

Oh, they all sound amazing too. Need an amp or new head unit with enough power to run them to their strengths, though. I've also been chasing down rattles ever since I upgraded the speakers. It's an uphill battle.

Removed my hatch lock cylinder and had locksmith repair. It was full of calcium and I couldn't get the key in. Common problem when not used much.
Removed the 4runner badge off the license plate garnish and had the garnish wrapped. Haven't decided on new badging and/or location.
Reinstalled lock cylinder and licence plate garnish and lubed everything up inside the tailgate.
Ordered parts to replace rear wiper arm and dropped off rear spoiler to get matching wrap. Not sure how to deal with the bolts at this point.

I have been putting this off for over a year because the wiring didn't seem to make sense, like I had too many wires compared to the schematic. Finally sent some pictures to ARB tech and it turns out they sent the wrong harness AND said it had been modified even though it was in a sealed ARB box and had shrink tubing that matched everything else. OK whatever. Just need to fab a 3 panel switch and locate it on the dash somewhere without cutting holes.

I replaced the headlight assemblies for my dad's 2001 4Runner.

Did a flush of the coolant system and filled with OEM Toyota red coolant.
The previous owner was smart enough to replace the radiator, but filled it with green coolant so I was happy to get that out of there.

My CEL light decided to "light up my life" I have a feeling that it's one of the 02 sensors.. at least i hope it is. More tomorrow when i know what's going on.
