What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Took it back to Firestone for my free lifetime alignment check. I do all my own wrenching, and even have access to an alignment machine at work, but paying 170 bucks to never have to mess with the alignment again was totally worth it! I also got some new custom plates a few months ago but never bothered to post about it. I think this forum will approve. :fro:

Um that isn't gonna be the front axle. You ever heard of a viscous coupler??? It is in the Tcase and is what goes out on GCs the part alone is 500. How do I know this??? Because I use to have one ad had the same issue

I have two 2004 GC's one is a limited with the full toot qudra drive both V8's. did a holeshot in the stones and had both axils pulling. That's why I figured the front vari-loc was toast or a CV in one of the axil shafts.

The toyota engines last a long time. Another reason I picked it over the 182k mile 4.7l GC.

The Yota is our puppy hauler. Folded the rear seats down. Done.

Today I ordered front strut assemblies and rear wheel cylinders. I couldn't get the rear bleeders to move.

And picked up more sand blasting media at TSC for the continuing frame rust removal.

You pay 169.95, and they will check it every 6000 miles or as often as needed. This is taken directly from the website.

Provide a Lifetime Warranty* on the alignment, which means we’ll set alignment angles on your vehicle every 6,000 miles or whenever needed, free of charge, for as long as you own it.

This weekend I replaced the sparkplugs, fuel filter and PCV valve. I went with the NGK BKR5EKPB plugs instead of the copper plugs.

The plugs were originals from what I can tell, the NGK on the passenger side, and the Denso plugs on the drivers side. Plugs on this were pretty easy compared to other engines I've seen such as the Ford Triton engines, or a lot of modern engines.

Mounted my heated seat switches. They're rear heated seats and switches out of an 02 Infiniti QX4. I just got rid of the glass sensor since I have an aftermarket alarm. Still need to install the heated elements in the seats and wire them, but they fit perfectly and look really factory I think.

well you didn't go wrong by picking the runner. i have seen jeeps last a while but they start having problems around 200k so your safer with this bet.

well you didn't go wrong by picking the runner. i have seen jeeps last a while but they start having problems around 200k so your safer with this bet.

Its going well. Thankfully with 255,000 on the clock all the fuel and brake lines seem new. So, I just got one done. Drinking a beer and playing with dogs. Then its time for the other one. I'll be done in time for my brother to help bleed them.

It started pulling right(after I've just replaced the steering rack and upgraded the brakes), the blown CV's are making a LOT of noise now(I expected that. There's probably little to no grease left in 'em, upper boots on both tore open), and I may have blown a tweeter.

Unfortunately for me, I moved down for school and now am sans tools. And I forgot the CV axle I bought and didn't get around to replacing :redbrick:

I'll fix it eventually..

I routed my iPod cable through the dash and up through the e-brake hole. Also, installed my new Scangauge II today!

Wow, I don't know why the pics are sideways. But, I don't know how to rotate them the correct way. So, for a little guidance in this time of great peril, I attached that owl.

that's how I've got mine run! Except mine is actually a rear USB so it looks really clean, and I've got the rear aux running alongside it.

Does your insurance company cover people who are sitting in the added seat? I know that sometimes that is an issue because they didn't come from the factory like that.

Also it looks like you are going forward facing? Any particular reason? The rear install seems like it would be easier to get in and out, that is if the people sitting there don't get sick from looking backward.
