What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Finally ordered a new front suspension setup to ditch the toast factory coils/3" revtek spacer that was only giving 1 3/4" lift.
New 5100's, extended top plate studs, and some 883's on the way From Wheeler's Offroad in order to compensate for the additional weight of the plate bumper that I'm building, and eventually the winch that I'll throw in it. Woot!

And it all arrived today! :bounce:

[MENTION=99383]amalik[/MENTION] Because of the daylight and not wanting to rip the seat out again it was hard to get a shot where you can really tell the difference, but here it is anyway:



Note the area along the door jam molding came out pretty good; I haven't done the floor where the passengers feet go yet. Overall I feel much better about it now. I have to do the rear now when I get time. I'll be more cognizant of a before and after shot there.

I'm just stoked I got rid of the movie theater style crude under the seat!

Finished writing the OBD2 interface for my DIY scangauge++




Bluetooth board and the LED readout for the windshield HUD experiment will be here next week. Once I have those, I can get it talking to the truck instead of the debug console.

Finally did the spark plugs and mounted the trans cooler.

Next on the list is swapping out my brake booster. Anyone have a write up for that?

so I took advantage of Vled's 20% off sale last weekend and decided to try out these 5k H3 LED bulbs. They put out a nice amount of light for what i paid. ($15.00 shipped) I just wanted them to match the HID's so yeah... not to shabby for the price

I marked my spot with a mad max dounet.

But today I replaced rear shocks (with a saw zaw)!and tried to brake free the rear brake bleeders on the just purchase 96 sr5 4 runner.

Yesterday I repaired the frame rot at the trans mount cross member on the drivers side.

Still needs a lot of work........had I know the frame rot was a issue I would have gotten the 2000 grand cherokee with Quadra-track for 300 more and replaced the front axil and coolant. What do you expect for 2500. The GC was 2800. And needed nothing but the front axil replaced at the max repair cost. (It made noise turning sharp turns with the posi. 300 would have replaced the hole axil.

Front Skid

Finally got my front skid painted and installed, pics show it in primer.





It constructed of mainly .125 steel plate, mounts to the same front mount as the stock skid, a crossmember I built that bolts to my steering rack is the middle mount, and the rear most mount ties into my trans skid seen here, its the three holes visible in the top of the first picture.





Total weight is 55 pounds, which is slightly over my target weight. I read that the budbuilt skids weight 55 pounds and I was hoping to come in around 45, but all the bracing added up fast.

Um that isn't gonna be the front axle. You ever heard of a viscous coupler??? It is in the Tcase and is what goes out on GCs the part alone is 500. How do I know this??? Because I use to have one ad had the same issue

Explored The Big Nasty 4x4 Park, Bloomingdale, Ga!!

I finally made the drive over to Georgia and found The Big Nasty! name says it all. my 100% stock Runner impressed me and was a hero in some deep and muddy muck. What a great vehicle...OMG...impressed..so we're the modified Jeeps

Picked these up from a junkyard for $45 each. When I get some more cash in a few weeks I'll rebuild them, paint buy the rotors and pads and mount the suckers!
