What did I do to my T4R today??..... I purchased it!!

1999 SR5, "highlander", elocker, black, automatic. 174k Miles. Only upgrades I can see are 265/75/16 tires, the upgraded stereo, and maybe the tacoma whip antenna mod(I need to look into that more to confirm)

Only pictures for now. I'll get more soon. Sorry for the weird angles, I was lazy, and photo bucket wouldn't let me rotate them.

I'll start up a build thread soonish, when I get a day off of work. Transmission cooler will likely be 1st mod, then LED interior lights, then I might look into a lift.

Today was unusually warm for March in the NE. 60 & sunny!
And since I took care of some maintenance I treated myself to putting on the rare & elusive stock front mud flaps! Thanks to [MENTION=116467]Rock_Rat[/MENTION] for grabbing these from the pick & pull for me!

Stock Roof Rack Refurb

With all the rain last week, I noticed several small wet spots around the edges of my headliner. The culprit? Three missing mounting screws on my roof rack. WTF?? So off came the roof rack...

Removing and painting the roof rack was on my 'to do' list to match the recently painted front and rear wiper arms and rear spoiler and spoiler mounts. I used Rustoleum Matte Black Trim and Bumper paint.

I took the rack off as a whole unit, disassembled, washed, rubbed with denatured alcohol and 3 coats of paint. Purchased 10 new machined screws (button head cap screw M6-1.00 x 16) from Lowe's, inserted them in the roof holes, washed and waxed the roof. After putting some clear silicone in each roof mounting hole and a small piece of 3M outlet insulator over each hole, I reinstalled the side mounts and then the cross-rails. I even put some silicone under the head of each mounting screw before tightening them.

One of the roof holes won't grab the threads on the screw. This is one of the holes that was previously missing a screw and it looks like the threads have some rust on them. I'll either try tapping the nut or removing the headliner and going in from the underside to clear the threads. The headliner REALLY needs to be cleaned anyway and I'm tempted to remove it to ensure there are no more leaks from the rack...but that project looks very involved.

So today is either the headliner or chasing the elusive but constant P0440 & P0446 codes! :frusty:

Had a friend of mine paint it at his shop as an evening/weekend project - he completely stripped the top (told him not to worry about the underside). Not sure where he got the paint. I was going to rattlecan it black. It is a little darker than the fenders but I didn't want to spend the effort to blend it. Going to scrub and wax the front fenders and call it good.

Used some silicone to seal a leaky moonroof, also had the mechanic replace my exhaust gasket and a hole. Sounds like new again. Love this truck!

Trans cooler plumbed in, LED pods remounted and wired in, laid some bondo and a few other misc items. Had to order parts to fix my compressor.

To the guys saying how terrible it is that I wired my horn to trigger my LEDs I'm not going around terrorizing anyone. It's mainly for the alarm due to having to park on the street every night in downtown Seattle. I'm also fighting city busses and taxis all day.

That's going to be a biggggg ticket once SPD sees you honk at someone.

Repainted my roof rack today. I used Duplicolor Bumper and Trim paint and I like the way it came out. The plastic parts I soaked in "Nano-protectant" (like Armor All) and they look like new.
