1999 SR5, "highlander", elocker, black, automatic. 174k Miles. Only upgrades I can see are 265/75/16 tires, the upgraded stereo, and maybe the tacoma whip antenna mod(I need to look into that more to confirm)

They also painted the license plate surround on the rear.

That's a strangely optioned 4Runner. Roof rack with no rear wind deflector, and an aftermarket hitch. I'd be willing to place a rather small bet that the rear end of that thing was at one time obliterated and rebuilt.

Does it have VIN stickers on the rear hatch?

Pulled my new longblock and cleaned it up. Sold the rest of the truck to a local for a project foundation. Sold the aftermarket suspension from sa me truck to his friend.

Decided to undercoat my truck (it's rust free) just because
Cleaned and did a quick prep on the rear axle, under driver and passenger sides of the vehicle, control arm sections, frame rails, complete area under cargo section and cleaned /primed the end rails of the frame. Also painted everything black behind the front tube bumper to blend it better. Tired of looking for a plate model so the winch / lights will pull it together.

My truck with the 881/890 ome setup had a rake more then I cared for. Plus the bro lean was 5/8" to the drivers side. Pulled the 5100s apart and went 4th perch on the drivers side (tundra shocks) and 3rd on the passenger. Threw the winch in, plus a 45 lb weight to supplement the supercharger stuff. Truck sits within 1/16" on all 4 corners with a 1/8 inch rake now. Suuuuuuuper happy with the looks now, 33s will make it sit perfect. I'll wash it and take pics in a day when the 33s get swapped on.

Pretty great progress for a days work today.

Took it out on the beach for some fishing all weekend at the OBX. Picked up one of the Smittybilt awnings. It was exactly what I was looking for!

Also picked up a hi lift jack. Now I just need some sliders for the additional jack points.

Repainted my roof rack today. I used Duplicolor Bumper and Trim paint and I like the way it came out. The plastic parts I soaked in "Nano-protectant" (like Armor All) and they look like new.

The rack looks really good!

I'm not saying the front crossbar is on backwards but both of my main crossbars face the same direction as your rear crossbar. I only noticed because I just removed, painted and reinstalled my rack a couple days ago and was very aware of how it was previously put together so I'd get it back the same way. I also looked at quite a few pics of 3rd gen stock racks before posting this.

If the placement was intentional...roll with it. Looks good either way.

It had a totally clean car fax(I know that always doesn't show everything) but the car drives great.

Checked the rear hatch, it has the VIN sticker, and it matches the vehicle.

Yeah, I guess so. This is my 1st 4Runner, so I don't know a lot of the small things, like I had no idea it was missing the rear wind deflector. Would having that, and a front fairing reduce the noise on the hwy?(I assume they would)

Ideally, Id like to build a rack like yours, my buddy is a pretty high end fabricator, so I'll likely have him build stuff for me. haha

Ideally, Id like to build a rack like yours, my buddy is a pretty high end fabricator, so I'll likely have him build stuff for me. haha

I don't know that the rear wind deflector would cut down on noise, but it does keep a LARGE amount of the exhaust fumes from coming in the rear windows when you're driving with that window down.

The rack is pretty awesome and I am so stoked to start using it this spring/summer. I posted the dimensions and stuff in my build
thread if you're interested- take a lot of the guess
work out.

I've got an 01 SR5 and a 96. Both have roof racks and no wind deflector. The 01 is almost a Limited minus cladding and they both have the gold emblems.
