No...that is the low beam. I would be surprised if there was any change from low to high that was visible.

That is exactly what happens when you put LED/HID bulbs in halogen housings. A little common sense would tell you a HID/LED light that costs less than a halogen bulb probably is not going to work out so well. The light wave lengths are different and can not be focused or directed. Also, why those conversions are illegal in every single state. Some states explicitly identify them as illegal (Wa) Others including washington also say for their high beam laws require a drivers lights on low beam to not have the high intensity portion shining into oncoming drivers eyes. If a light cannot create a defined visible top limit line (not on a garage door 5 feet away) then the light is not directing the high intensity portion of the light.

What products did you end up using for the rust blocker, frame and wheel paint. I have similar surface rust and would like some suggestions on products to use.

I started with a degrease using Simple Green, then I used some sandpaper (80 grit) on the rusty areas followed by a spray down with brake cleaner. Then I used painters tape to mask off delicate areas close to the frame/parts of the spare wheel suspension mechanism/etc. and used Rustoleum brand "rust converter" spray paint (it's a matte black color). For the wheel, I basically did the same process, except I applied more paint from more angles (make sure and tape off the valve stem... I almost made that mistake but caught myself just in time).

Well I am pretty dumb and definitely have a lack of common sense — but I'm happy to be learning something here. So new vehicles that come equipped from the factory with LED headlights have a special housing to deal the nature of LED bulbs? I'm aware of the projectors for HIDs, do factory LED headlights have something similar? Could our OEM headlights be retrofitted for LEDs in a similar way as they are for the HID setups?

LOL...dumb/simple is much different than ignorant. One is fixable and one is not. I am very ignorant about many many things. You asking questions....shows you are not dumb brother! I just share another perspective on some of these things....many want to but are uncomfortable actually typing it.

I dont know if you can retrofit but I know you can replace. People don't like to replace because it is very expensive to do it properly. The issue is the mirrors/lens/bulbs are designed for each other. Is there a kit that will actually do what is needed??? I'm not sure.

I did see one kit/retrofit/replacement/or other on here based on the photos taken that appeared to work, but I am not sure what it was or how it works or if it was HID or LED. I have not seen one in real life (kit/retro/addition) that worked as required (legal) where the actual useable light was any better. The illegal/improper ones do put out more visible light.

I would suggest some DOT/SAE compliant driving or fog lights installed with relays to operate with your high and low beams to increase waned lighting. The ones that actually have the DOT/SAE and required number designations stamped/molded into the lens. Again, they are EXPENSIVE and you can't buy them for $20 or even $200 for the best ones.

Took my new to me slightly used bought of the forum Cooper AT 265/75/16 's for a shore run. Added height is nice and they really are a nice smooth running tire. Fresh tranny fluid all the way thru and some fresh oil, nice day for a ride when it hits 65 in the NE in February. Mandatory rear window 1/2 way down weather

It went up to 60 today so I had every window down including the rear for the drive home on the highway and I ALMOST ran over fresh roadkill. That would've been a messy mess on the interior and the back of my head.

My passenger side foglight has been burnt out for as long as I owned my 4Runner. I was going to just replace the bulb, but stripped one of the three corroded philips head screws, even having applied PB blaster to it. Pulled the foglight off the truck, and tried to hammer a square drive into the head. No luck. Tried dremeling a notch and using a flathead. Didn't work. Ended up dremeling the head off the screw, then set the foglight in a mill and drilled out the screw shank until I could pull the cover off, and used a set of pliers to turn and unscrew the bottom part out of the housing.

Unfortunately, the gasket got a bit beat up trying to extract the screw out. It doesn't look like Toyota sells just the gasket. So I'm now on the search for a good gasket off a otherwise busted housing, or I'm going to try and fix the gasket.

Did oil changes today on my truck and the lady's '09 Scion XB. Also dumped some Seafoam into the gas tank when filling up.

Also had my rear diff gasket redone with Toyota FIPG Thursday by a local shop that is a Toyota specialist. It was leaving small puddles everywhere I parked for the last couple days prior, so it needed to be addressed quickly. Apparently they do a lot of these on Toyotas. This pic was taken Thursday morning before I took it to the shop.

Finally got around to installing the Superwinch. The pos wire coming out of the control box was able to bed just enough to not have to notch the grill!

make sure you spool your line in straight. I know its hard to do this when actually using the winch. But straight line before using the winch will help save your synthetic line from getting pinched, burned and other stuff

I was told by the mechanic there is a paper style Toyota gasket, and that some people use RTV, but neither of those hold up to taking hits off-roading and he said the Toyota FIPG is much more durable for someone who wheels. I'm pretty sure that wheeling caused the leak to begin with since I noticed some oil saturation after a couple wheeling trips in Big Bear last summer on some technical trails. The leak got worse after my wheeling trip to Anza Borrego last month and really started puking fluid last week.

Scraped off the crooked Punisher skull at top dead center of windshield, as well as zombie family on back glass. Had an old dealers sticker at the bottom of the hatch that got removed, spent $10 worth of quarters vacuuming out. Went through 2 bottles of purple power degreaser just to try and cut some grime from the body before I washed her. (Still needs a full day of buffing and waxing)All from the previous owners but she will clean up nicely

are you referring to Toyota Red silicone ? which is like $30 a toothpaste size?

I need to remove my third member and wondering what route to go to reseal it back. I have the toyota RED silicone from dealer. I believe its actually for that purpose
