Did the first mods to my newly aquired 98 today...
Flow master Delta 40 muffler, dumped in front of axle.
Deck plate mod and cleaned maf
Removed fugly factory running boards
Got it smogged so I can register it.
Next mod is a 3" lift(should be delivered this week), and wheels and tires.

Love that Tranny temp. gauge! I tow alot and really want to be able to monitor things. Where did you get this setup and did you have to remove the dash to cable it?I have almost completed the autometer gauge install. I have yet to do the lighting. I need a bit more time for that. I'll end up using the ashtray lighting for it. I hope the positive and negative cables are clearly marked. I don't want to burn out my bulb.
I'd like to put the photos here, but this is not the right place for them. I'll put them somewhere else and inform everybody later.

Continued mods today...
Drop in specter air filter(cotton gauze like k&n)
Got my diff drop, rear 5125's, and ome 891x coils for the lift from toytec.
Now I'm waiting on samco Fab to finish my fox/fabtech coil over rebuild before installing the lift.
Also decided on wheels... Raceline raptor matte black 16's.
I'll be getting them for a damn good price; $401 otd tax included. Still looking for used tires, but might just get some mtr look-alike treadwrights and call it good.

well not today, but i wired up auxiliary reverse lights featuring constant on, on only with reverse lights and constant off.

The autometer 'A' pillar gauge pod part number for the third gen 4runner is 15411 and the meter is #2640

^^^ wait so that gauge pod is specifically for the 3rd gen? Let us know how it fits. I have one from Summit for earlier 3rd gens. I had to hack it up to get it to fit right.

Greased up the tracks in the back hatch window. They were making a god-awful noise while going down. Took all the paneling off to get to the gears to apply some silicone, then used bearing grease down the track. Quiet as a pin drop now.

Got a fu(king fix it ticket for tinted tail lights and tinted front windows. So pissed because my tail lights have a light tint and are clearly visible from far away not like all these other douche bags I see all the time with completely blacked out ones.

in other news, i ordered my shocks and struts, i got the tundra 5100s, and the 5125 pn-6252 that steeze recommended(i figured that with the adapter bracket that would drop them down about a half in so dont risk getting the 6253s that are a half inch long travel -dont want to blow the shock.) and i bought the adapter bracket -eye to stud mount from toytec, all for under $400 shipped to my door so next week ill have my lift...

Gave my 01 T4R a much needed tune-up today and to my horror the plugs that I took out were:barf:champion singles. I only use champion plugs in my lawn mower and weed eater. The 1st and original owner apparently went with the el cheapo tune-up at one time before I bought her. I replaced the chump-ions with the NGKs and also added a new set of NGK wires. WOW what a huge difference. The idle is so smooth and it has a bit more pep on the hills. I wish all tune-ups were this easy.Took me 45mins tops.
