There are way too many typos here. Leaving it at that.

Ahem... "Psychologists would agree that some (if not all) of these pathetic "grammar Nazis", are anal retentive neat-freaks who are very lonely people with idiosyncrasies, who blame others for their own failures and frustrations, and most likely to be suffering from some form of mental disorder. These grammar Nazis are aware that their thoughts and behaviour are not rational, but they feel bound to comply with them to fend off feelings of panic or dread. The obsessive need to correct others for their mistakes is a direct result of the their own failure to accept their lives and desperate attempt to improve themselves to combat unhappiness."

Lol jeez you guys need help! :lmao:

OK enough is enough. You are both seriously derailing this thread, which happens to be one of the better threads in this section.

I politely ask you take your argument SOMEWHERE ELSE such as /off-topic/

Thank you.

Built a 20 dollar light bar and added 4 led pods to it ;) I'm really liking it!

Only pic I had ik it sucks :p

Looks good. What LED lights are those?

Ok let me be the first to apologize for going off topic or offending anyone, that wasn't my intention. But yea back on topic. I changed my brakes today all by myself for the first time ever. While this may seem easy as pie to some of you, it was a first time experience for me, and it felt good!!

what I did (or had done) to my 4 runner today.

I had the shop RE MOUNT my Bushwhacker fender flares today because they loosened up... and I also had my side rails RE rhino coated because the first spraying was not worth a squirrel fart- had rust already..

so after that on the way home from having some service done on my jet ski I think I screwed up my transmission.. put ol gal in D nothing happens.. after some screwing around with the shifter I got it to go into gear and got me and my ski home without the aid of a flatbed.I measured ATF- was low added some but it did not help... Oh, I got some black shackles for the rear bumper...so when I AM able to tow something I'll be good to go.

As usual More on this later. Back to our regularly scheduled forum.

Finished my CS-144 alternator swap. Threw the belts back on, hooked everything back up, and sitting happily around 13.7v while running. No more battery light!

Going to roll on it for a few days, and if everything keeps working, I'll post some part numbers. Super easy project.

Still idling high, though. 1800 rpm when warm. Time to start going through the possible causes of that.

It hasn't been throwing any codes, but I have pulled and degunked the IAC once already. I'm going to pull it again and run the FSM diagnostics on it, but that P0505 code you list already has me on some good leads. Thanks!

Removed front sway bar. Sway bar was chirping like crazy because of the bushings. Going to run without it for a little bit and see how different it is. If I dont like it im going to run Energy suspension bushings because they need replacing.

Also did ISR mod from a intake tube my buddy had laying around and realized a engine bay cleaning is in order.

So, ever since my K&N filter oiled up my MAF sensor, I had gotten a Spectre dry filter. Well, here are the before and after pictures:

Had to drill holes for MAF:

Got the box in:

Got the Powercore Dry Filter installed:

Picked up a set of these beauties last night. They are in good condition except one is torn up in the back and the mounting holes are a bit messed up. Not sure if it's usuable yet, but for the price I can't complain. The tires also have about 40% tread left. Might run them and sell my current set till I can afford new tires. Hmm, this is my 3rd set of Tundra's I've owned so maybe I should keep theses.

Nice setup , what do you think the filter area is compared to say a stock Toy filter ? Do they claim any performance gains with that setup ( backed by a dyno reading ) ?

I know that the Volant CAIs do show performance upgrades from stock boxes, but not quite sure on our 4Runners. I came from a homemade cold air intake and I felt as if I had hurt my intake system more than helping it. If I still had the factory intake, I would've just done the deckplate mod to save $$$.

But I would assume the Volant has minor advantages to the OEM box for airflow, and that the Volant eliminates the silencer and box at the same time, so more air is going into the engine vs. the stock one. Also, the passageways throughout the Volant pipes are straight as possible, and where they aren't, Volant has rounded their edges to eleviate air drag.

It's an awesome intake, and certainly sounds better than my old intake. I can feel the high end power, whereas before I couldn't. It was just a little pricey for me. The install was also a PITA, but I think my body lift was to blame. It restricted the hoses to reach properly, so I tracked the hoses for their to-and-from locations and went out and bought new, longer hosing. I am ultimately happy with the entire setup.

Its pretty cool , thanks for the info. Looks like a great place to hide stuff as well :thumb3:
