What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Those lights are worth a bit if they are OEM. Probably $75 each or more easy.

Did you replace them with OEM lights or EBAY lights?

I once made the very stupid mistake of replacing my headlights with 01 lights from EBAY and threw out my original 97s. The light output difference was huge but they threw light everywhere, no pattern. I should have just swapped the glass only.

I'll be doing this soon myself. Are you doing TREs or anything else at same time? What about the uppers? I was thinking about doing LBJs, OTREs, steering rack bushings and maybe 99 Tall Springs and Bilsteins. Just figured it would make sense while I was down there to knock a few things out.

Doing Inner and Outer TRE's also. Just did rack bushings last week. Truck came stock with 99 tall springs. Need a couple more pieces to do my lift.
The upper ball joints will get done once I order my LR upper arms.

I want to make my own sliders/step rails soon out of metal to teach myself how to weld. I made these today with $4 in materials and an hour . I don't know if I like how gar they stick out so I might bring them in a little. But I think this is how I wan to do it. These are not "sliders " they are basically steps that I want to make . Any suggestions on them ?

Bring them in a lot more. You will constantly rub them against your leg and get your pants dirty/wet. Angling them at then end as well is a good idea so you don't get caught up on rocks while wheeling. Other than that they look good.

I replaced them with OEM from an 00.

I was just looking to get $50 for the set one is missing a tab and is cracked but repaired.

Hey fox why just make them "steps"? If you're going to the effort just anchor them really well and have sliders that you can "step" on. Just a thought.

Threw new seals in the 4.30, installed a 2nd gen Tacoma 10mm hex drain plug instead of the original problem prone shallow 12mm hex plug, removed 4.10, swapped vacuum lines on diffs, began 4.30 install, quickly started wondering WTF am I thinking doing this with no help as I wrestled the slippery greasy thing into its new home and then finally a cautious test drive to test the ADD system. What a night...atleast I have matching gear ratios now after the elocker swap last week.

Thats the one I hate about the front diff is that damn 12mm hex. You have a PN for that tacoma drain plug?
