Got my new UVS100 Covercraft sunshade. Perfect fit of course.. I love it.

Not at all surprising when you take a reflector designed for a certain kind of light output and stick something totally different. LED bulbs are the new drop in "HID" kits.

Yessir I love the look. Idk y but the color looks black in the pics though it is suppose to be dark grey house ins and black chrome shrouds

I was able to install my Lotus RCAMS and WeatherTech side visors.
I pulled by chrome fender flares and grill and sanded them down so I can paint them tomorrow.
I tried to remove my passenger side mirror to fix damage from the previous owner. The outside 2/3 screws were stripped. I had to pull the inside 3 bolts and remove the mirror. I then turned it upside down to put some WD40 on them to hopefully help me pull them tomorrow.
BTW, anyone have a lead on the twitter plastic cover for cheap? I broke the tab that holds it on. :mad2:
I also looked at how to mount and install my B&M transmission cooler.
It was a work on my 4Runner day.

We took an 01 Limited in on trade at work that is a POS. I talked to our GM about swapping interior pieces out of it and was told "take whatever you want out of it, as long as it runs and drives when you're done we're good". So I'm taking the center console w/updated cup holders, all the door panels, the larger rear cargo storage thing, and anything else I decide and swapping it into my 97. I'll post some before and after pics when I'm done.

I put in a new OEM fuel filter today in my 97 V6 5spd. The part's guy from the Toyota dealership thought I was wasting my money because the filter is supposed to be a 'lifetime part'. For me, there is no logical reason that a filter like this could actually be good forever. In my case, original filter has gone 187k miles, which seemed like long enough, and reading other posts regarding changing the filter showed that most experienced positive results with a few saying there was no change at all.
I had been experiencing a little bit of hesitation/drop in power once my engine got up to around 2600 rpms, and poor gas mileage overall. Changing the filter immediately changed the performance--the tach shows smooth progress from 2600 to 3200 rpms now, and feels a lot more powerful. Improvement in gas mileage, however, remains to be seen.
From start to finish took me about half an hour or so---I am blessed with this 97 4runner having virtually zero rust on it. On my previous 98 4runner, I ended up cutting the original filter out and replacing it with a universal type of filter spliced in with rubber fuel lines and hose clamps because of the incredible amount of rust on the filter, flare nuts, bracket, etc. Much happier to be using an OEM part for this one.
