I like the looks of the silicone. Where did you get it?

This is the link to the "Kit" that I got. There seems to be enough for all the lines and a bit left over. They have it in Blue, Black and Red. I was hoping the red color was a deeper red, it's kinda on the orange side of the red spectrum.

Just purchased these from my neighbors 4runner. Going to put them on my truck since I only paid $60 for them. Made my Smitty built. Kinda stoked, it will help my dad who's 70 get in the truck easier so we can go do more wheeling!

One thing I hate about this stereo is that if you plug your iPhone into the front USB port, the stereo automatically defaults to the "ipod" player and starts playing whatever is first on your iPhone/iPod. Which in my case is that crappy free U2 album that Apple  forced onto my phone. I don't store music on my phone so it always goes to that U2 crud. I need to get it off my phone because I'm sick of hearing it every time I plug in. :frusty:

Haha. Yeah, that would suck. Just to understand, why are you plugging in your phone if you aren't listening to music though? Are you just doing it to get it charged?

My phone connects through Bluetooth as soon as I get inside, so my calls always come through, no need to plug it in. And I have a phone charger for my cig lighters if I need a charge. So I've never noticed this issue. I have an iPod I use separately to plug into the front though, so I guess I don't mind it automatically switching to that when its plugged in.

Yeah I can play through the Bluetooth as well, but I like to keep my phone charged up when I'm driving and the wife often has her phone plugged into the regular plug. Plus, if I plug my phone into the regular plug, she will plug into the stereo to charge....and she also has that crappy U2 album in her phone.

Did you use the Quick Boots?

I used the OEM toyota boot kit. Comes with the factory original boots, clamps and grease. Had to remove axles, and dissassemble the end of the cv axle and clean everything off and put boots on and reassemble. I took pics and soon will be on my build thread

Comes in two pieces and is glued together with some kind of heavy duty glue stuff. I haven't tried it yet but I will soon.

I cant imagine those being reliable. Its not a hard job doing it with the right parts from the get go. I would suggest buying the oem kits.

Oil catch...

Installed a billet aluminum oil catch can today. Suppose to help in my situation being supercharged to catch the oil thats being sucked up from the PCV to the intake. Will see if it does the job. Pics will be on my build soon

Good luck.

I have some clear chepo catch can to catch the oil from the PCV due to bad valve guide seals. Plan to replace them this summer.

Got my shackles and mounts installed tonight. It was cold, but no wind so it wasn't too bad. Tomorrow they're calling for 4-6" of snow down here in alabama. I'm hoping to get out and get the 4Runner into some snow. I might just wait until it gets late and no one is out though. No one here knows how to drive when it starts to snow and I would hate to get hit by some idiot in a mustang trying to do donuts... I've got a few trails I would like to get on with some snow though. I've never gotten the 4Runner out in any snow.

265/75/16's... I spent a week reading through the tire threads looking for issues with these KO2's (I run the old KO's on Tacoma) and i'll tell you there is NO rubbing on my stock SR5. It hasn't rained yet so I can't speak to the hydroplaning. They are rated "e" but my Taco has the "c" rated KO's and I can't tell the difference, they ride smooth and I do tow a small boat sometimes.

I just finished replacing my starter and a loose battery terminal dilly. Also check my timing belt since I just bought the truck. Will probably be replacing that with the next 30k miles. Ready to hit some trails this weekend

Same here. And I keep going back and forth on if I want to do 265/70/R16 (current size that came on the vehicle) on my stock Runner or go up to 265/75/R16.

I think Smokey up here has swayed my decision now. :yo:

Do those just bolt on to the factory mount holes? I don't like the crud that accumulates on the running boards and they rubbed rust spots on the body paint so I took them off, but my kids need something to step on and those look pretty good.
