Added some click, pop, tick to my ride.

I need to do this. I've got one setting on my shelf waiting for me to sack up and install it. Did you readjust your backlash or anything else while in the rear diff?

Got the CB installed...mostly. Need to get an elbow for the back of the CB and order my CBI mount.

Its a PITA but I prefer to solder all my electrical connections then use heat shrink over them and if I'm really OCDing I wrap the shrink in electrical tape.

Wanted the radio to be secure so I tapped the holes up front to use the Toyota screws and drilled/tapped holes in the back for the screws that came with the CB.

Ran the orange line to the Battery and the red one was tapped into constant power so I can enjoy CB without the ignition on and grounded to frame. Used some overkill 12ga silicone wrapped wire from the battery into the cab.

Used a FireStik fire ring 9 foot MU-8R9 with removable PL connector so I could make the teeniest hole possible in the drivers side grommet.

Where did you order the Charcoal canister and how much. I'm pretty sure I need one.

i bought it on ebay for $317 shipped. there are some nice prices on there. camelback has them for $392. this one is for 01-02.

Sometimes you can fix a charcoal canister. I have the earlier style, but I had a small separation between the base and the side, which I filled with JB weld, and it fixed my p0406 code. There are pics in my build thread on the last page, or second to last.

My goal is to alienate everyone on the board by drawing out the TDI install as long as possible. Then, when all it's members have left, I'll make a triumphant return with a barely limping diesel powered 4runner; complete with 75 hp and 100 ft lbs. I expect the forum will experience a resurgence unlike any other.

after 14 years, and countless CEL's for the same codes, it was time to replace. the foul, raw, fuel smell coming from the fill area is gone as well.

adjusted all cables ( throttle, kick down and cruise) made a big difference
then went and got my tires road force balanced...wow another big difference

this new to me 4runner is driving like new

passed NJ inspection so I'm good for 2 years! I was a little worried recently cause I was throwing the P0446 code the past several months...luckily it was fixed by replacing only the VSV on the charcoal cannister...

soon I should be getting my 8wraps in and 5100s installed up front...hope it doesnt look silly with 265/75s...we will see

next up, thinking of buying this kit Toyota 4Runner Tacoma 3 4L V6 5VZFE Tune Up Kit Spark Plug Wires PCV Gasket | eBay with NGK plugs...all OEM stuff, decent price...prob do this over summer

Picked up my new 255/75/17 BFG MT tires. Brand new, 5 tires, with new jeep wheels as well for $450. After I sell the wheels I shouldn't have very much money into these at all. I'm stoked! I'll definitely post pics after I get them mounted on my new wheels hopefully in the coming week!

good move, looking past the obvious, find the right tire on a different rim, then sell the rims

Hit 160,000 today!

Hit 160,000. Decided to do some trail riding and take some pics. also cleaned the throttle body.

Replaced this yesterday. Kind of a history with the old one.

One day a month ago it wouldn't start. A few hours later it started, so I got it into the garage and pulled the starter. The contacts were about half worn (at 140k miles), so I just reassembled and reinstalled. Worked fine for a month, then wouldn't crank Saturday.

Got it towed home, let it sit... Went out later in the day, whacked the side of the starter with a big screwdriver, and it started. Grr. So, in with the new.

One thing I discovered: it is possible to get it out and reinstall without taking anything off the truck.
