What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Alright men, our enemy is a devious one, he likes to play games, and mess with our heads. I have installed Denso double Platinums (couldn't get the cheaper ones), and confirmed a solid connection on all coil packs and slave wires. The misfire has now moved to the #6 cylinder, or so my OBDII Blue Tooth magic box is telling me. Tomorrow I will receive OE Denso Coil packs (3 of them) and OE slave wires. I'll also pull and re-check the new plugs. Any suggestions, insults, razzs, or jokes are appreciated.

Good News. New coil packs + New Plugs + New Wires = an awesome running truck!! Much smoother idle, better throttle response, no more misfire!!!.

Change out the PCV valve with a new OEM one if you haven't already done such.

I forgot to get one when I did my oil last weekend. I'll add it to the list I guess. Is that oil buildup caused from a plugged pcv valve?

Took it to the deer lease. Got 17.9mpg running in 3rd gear at 78mph. Highest it's ever gotten. Guess that new exhaust is helping quite nicely. Previous trip was 15.5mpg.

Spray painted the grill guard with truck bed liner over the past week. I'll be doing the bumpers next, but doing it with a roller instead of spray.

my battery was dead today. I can't seem to figure out what's causing the drain. it has a aftermarket alarm system, which i've been slowly tearing out; i just think there is some part of it somewhere still drawing power. I hate dead batteries...... I just want to go

Well after refurbishing the front end with all new bushings I still had a random pop sound. I thought maybe it's the sway bar since I bought aftermarket links and poly bushings. So I disconnected it and sure enough that's what it was.
So I put the original sway bar links back on with the new rubber bushings from the new links and viola it's fine. The poly end link bushings I bought, the holes are too big so I think the sway bar moved around causing the pop sound. I heard this to be an issue with universal poly bushings (that the internal diameter of the whole to be much bigger than the diameter of the part; in my case the end link).

After cheap OTRE and sway bar parts I learned my lesson, just go OEM...
