Just did the Tundra brake upgrade thanks to this forum!
(I didn't put the DOT reflective tape on there. It's on my to-do list to get rid of it)

All that work to drop the tank.. Probably should've just replaced the pump ANYWAYS. Hah. Good to hear you solved your problem nonetheless.

I would've loved to replace it. I only have about 142k on it so it's not TOO bad. I would rather spend that money on the rest of my lift and I also need new tires for my 2014 mazda6 and new brakes for it.

Broke 170,000 miles.

I know its considered low miles but I'm proud of my 4runner I hope to get 170,000 more miles out of this beast. Dont mind my speeding (ooops)

Awhile back I fried a circuit board in my combination meter (aka instrument cluster). I bought a used one soon after and swapped that circuit board. Unbeknownst to me, the odometer data was held in a tiny chip on that board. My truck with 167k miles then showed over 200k. So, I promptly put the bad circuit board back in while I researched how to go about fixing the odometer problem.

Long story short... Today I finally swapped the chip from the original & bad circuit board to the new-used circuit board. I used a hot air/soldering iron rework station to lift and reinstall the tiny smd chip.

that's sweet man.

what were your symptoms on the original board that indicated it was fried?

LED Interior Lights, Switch Panel, Radio Install - Weekend Project

Decided it was time to have fun and not really get into any "big" projects this weekend. Thanks to [MENTION=98153]MStudt[/MENTION] for his FAQ's on the correct LED bulbs for interior lighting, I was able to order the correct bulbs for my rig. I went with amber because red or blue would look like a Christmas tree and I wanted a little contrast from green. So amber compliments my IMJ exterior/Gray Interior well.

Also, received my TC Gussets and White Line LCA bushings and new UCA ball joints from LR. Not a project I really felt like dealing with this weekend. Spindles and LCA's from my donor vehicle can sit and wait patiently in my garage. Also received my AEM Failsafe Gauge for the SC last week.

Began my receiver HU (Pioneer DEH-X9600BHS) and switch panel installation this weekend. I went with a single din because that's all I need and I like the looks of a clean switch panel under the radio. I'll throw all this stuff in my build thread when I'm done with it.

EDIT: Also replaced my existing LED Dome light with the one in the photo. Now it looks like an operating room with the light on!

Addicted finally put on. Looks great IMO. Need to get the CV axles I picked up from NAPA on once my mechanic gets back on his feet. She has 248k on her chassis so I'm debating whether or not to rebuild the front end whole I'm at it. What's everyone doing?

I'm thinking LBJ, UBJ, any necessary bushings, sway bar bushings and end links, I definitely need new brakes all around. I'm thinking the tundra upgrade. I'll do some research to figure out what that might run me. It's a beautiful day out here in va.

I don't think my diff breather was supposed to look like this:

Obviously extended the diff breather. Also used the same hose and clamps to replace my rear heater lines that rotted through. Makes me wonder how long this truck was in a rust prone area.

I can't believe your rear axle seals weren't leaking with the diff breather looking like such.

I wish I was that lucky.

The driver's side has a nasty leak, and the other side doesn't look too far behind. Hopefully this slows it down until I can get to it, since there's plenty other that needs adressing as well.

Installed my Marlin crawler HD clutch finally.. Didnt resurface the fly wheel though, instead I got a new Napa fly wheel.. Just an FYI for anyone who is gonna go that route the napa fly wheel is a LUK fly wheel and they charge 85 for it when you can get the same fly wheel at rock auto for about $40...

Changed the oil/filter (sitting at just under 195K). Someone is coming by to buy my OEM front bumper in a few minutes. Now.. if someone would be as interested in my running boards, that would be cool too.:snacker:

Didn't wash the body, but cleaned my interior and windows. has been sitting for a week or more, so lots of pollen and dust.

Did my Oil Change this Weekend, also changed the rear Diff from 75w-90 Syn to 85w-140 syn.
Also thanks to this Forum I learned how to lube the drive shafts and joints, I am not sure that my rear drive shaft has ever been done before, it took about 20 pumps to finally see a little bit of movement.

A tip on those LCA bushings... Throw them in the freezer. Now.

After you take the LCAs off, just have a shop press them out unless you've got an air hammer or a LOT of time on your hands. I did the bottle jack trick on one of mine and it launched that thing out with who knows how much energy. The other side it pushed the rubber part out, but left the metal sleeve...

With the old bushings out, and your new ones nice and cold, they're slide right into the LCAs. One of mine I had to bop once with a mallet to get it all the way in.

FINALLY replaced the MAF.

I stripped the top screw trying to get it off a few weeks ago in 30 degree weather (no garage) and my fingers could take it anymore. So, on this 65 degree day in NE Ohio I got 'er done. Essentially ended up drilling the head off the screw and then using a pair of needle nose to get the rest of the screw out. Went to Home Depot and bought some 4mmx10mm socket heads with a perfect 3mm Allen Wrench fit!

And DANG was the old one dirty. No wonder I could only get 16-17 MPG on the highway at 70 MPH on the way back from Colorado 7 weeks ago.

Made an interior latch for the rear door. Can easily open rear door from inside now.
