That the thing about drivetrain upgrades. I did the same thing, i put in oem outers, oem lower ball joints and had it aligned. Two weeks later during an oil change i could tell the inner were shot tons of play between 3 and 9. If you have a couple weak components, and replace only some, those old parts will wear out faster.

And that's what bothered me. I assumed new rack itre's are good. Didn't know how fast non oem ones went out.

I had my new rack ITRE's fail within a month. Two sets of replacements failed. Moog and Napa brand I believe.

I broke down and paid for the OEM ITRE's and have been solid since. You can get them pretty cheap here and others have bought them with success but I have not used them. https://www.amayama.com/en/search?q=4550339075

That's a better deal for sure. I see 2 prices though. One shipped from Japan and one shipped from UAE. Are they both oem?

Yes they are; just shipping from a different warehouse. On some parts you'll see prices from Russia and even sometimes Australia.

I purchased my ITREs from them awhile back and my only complaint is/was how long it took to get them. I've been spoiled by Amazon's next day delivery and it has absolutely destroyed my expectations.

It took about 9 days. I ordered late on a Friday night (for them- it was morning for me) and had them two Mondays later. Reading other people's experiences it seems like that's pretty long for them. I imagine that it had a lot to do with the time of my order.

Ahh I gotcha. I'm going to keep this place in mind. I think even at Camelback Toyota parts the oem was 120 or something. Waiting for the weather to cool before I do them. I'll make sure to order them ahead of time then

Im guessing if your 4runner does not see anything worse than a street curb or dirt road they will last.

But if you wheel and fully max out a lifted front suspension they will pull out the sockets and or pull on the steering rack causing it to pop a seal. Sitting side by side the OEM has noticeably more droop. The casting on the aftermarket is thicker around the base holding the rod to not droop as far. Someone in the past posted pictures showing this and I found it to be the case when I compared them.

Yeah the OEMs seem to be fine and have been wheeled hard for a few years now. Steering still solid.

New machine screw showed up, put the oil pump back together. Learned how the pump gets primed. Installed along water pump. Picked up valve cover grommets and ordered oil tube pickup gasket. Tried installing valves but compressor tool didn't have all the parts, more waiting.

I installed my new Yaesu Ft-8900 today. I couldn't figure out how people mount it in the stereo section, and I didn't really have the means to fabricate something to mount it there. I also didn't like the idea of mounting it to the floor either in the front passenger area or under a seat. Didn't like the idea of it being on the ground when the floor gets wet. So I mounted to the underside of the driver seat. I still need to mount the faceplate, but ran out of time today.

Just replaced the front o2 sensor, cleaned maf and throttle body

That o2 sensor is a little pain in the neck on pretty tight, cleared the code though!

I have yet to mount it, I just tossed it up there for a photo. Can't wait to mount it and get back camping!!

Finished my ham radio install by mounting the detached face to the dash. I also added a speaker under the headrest so I can hear whats going on easier. Ran the wire through the fabric to under the seat where the radio is mounted.

Finally got around to replacing the CV axle today that I snapped down in Moab last weekend. $55 for a lifetime warranty reman from Autozone isn't a bad deal! Old one really didn't want to come out though...
