Wait wait wait — you can't just say that you replaced your carpet and tell everyone it looks nice — without showing us some pics! Pics make everything better, just look how much nicer my post is with a picture of a dog...
So what brand did you go with? Mass backing or no? And most importantly, what's the exact color code in case it looks good and we want to copy it — or if it looks like shit we'll know what to avoid?
Don't worry though, even if it looks like shit – we'll still tell you it looks perfect

You're right, the dog definitely makes that pic haha. Dark out when I finished up and having to work in driveway (other project is taking up the garage!) I'll grab a few pics and post the details tomorrow.

Oooooooh!! Well done sir! That looks great! You sure busted that out quickly. I am impressed with the overall look and the amount of work that must have taken to get it all put together. It's a lot of little... 10 minute jobs. Hahahahaha.

I used a grinder with a metal cut-off wheel for the outer cuts. I used my plumbers torch to form the plastic. I used my multi-too to cut the Carling Switch holes then cleaned them up with a file.
Thanks man. I agree it looks pretty sharp. I also had my Stubbs sliders welded on finally.
It's not done man but the bumpers on and as soon as the battery goes in it's driveable. It wasn't to bad other then Relentless cut the notch for the A/C line on the wrong side. Let me say that again. They cut the notch for the A/C in the wrong friggin side. WTF? Rookie day on the CNC machine? I'm trying not to be pissed but I'm pissed. lol
I kinda got inspired by [MENTION=57546]4-Ripcord[/MENTION] and his fuse/distribution set up. So I've got in way over my head with wiring. I really only have to get the winch and bumper lights hooked up but figured since I'm in there I might as well pre-fab it all. I might skip put on his fancy firewall pass-through though and drill a smaller hole and fill it with silicone when I'm done.

Weathertech floor mats front and rear. Soooooooo nice. Perfect fit.
Not sure about going for the cargo liner. I will probably cheap out on that and get something else.

Bought this kit to do both the 4Runner and my 72 Duster; will use more of it in the old car. Laid RAAMmat down on the exposed flat metal surfaces-under pedals, under driver side rear seat, sides and top of trans tunnel, and a couple small open spots on floorpan. Most of our footwells already have a rubberized type mat glued down to them, and frankly I didn't care enough to peel that stuff just to lay similar stuff back down. Used about 3 sheets (they're maybe 24x12" each). Laid down Ensolite almost wall to wall, from top of firewall to rear seat back hinges. Had to cut out around shifter area and the rear heater of course.
Pulled front seats, console, door sill trim and rear seat lowers. Pulled old nasty carpet out. I vacuum, clean up spills and occasionally shampoo trouble spots but 340k of camping, dirt bike trips with dog in the back take their toll!

I've done carpet swaps like this in 6 old muscle cars and a couple pickup trucks over the years. I gotta say, the 4R floor pans SUCK to get carpet into. Granted, the essex material combined with Mass backing made the carpet itself significantly stiffer and tough around tight corners. Standard cutpile w/o mass back would've been much, much easier. Also its a MOTHER to cut it, I used a combo of utility knife and my EMT shears-and today my hands and wrists are pretty pissed off. Considered firing up the hot knife but didn't want to risk ruining the carpet if I dropped it on a "keeper spot" or similar. Probably woulda cut a lot easier though.
The carpet comes with zero holes in it, just with moldings that roughly match the highs and lows. I cut a circle out for the rear heater fan, and the assorted bolt holes needed. I need to go back today and cut out some jute padding from under the gas pedal-I can't get WOT now haha.
Took probably 5 hours total, working at a leisurely pace with pizza and beer breaks. Anyways, here's how it turned out.

1. My SR5 came with just the OEM radio which left a gaping hole underneath the radio, so I ordered and installed an OEM CD player from a great source that sells 100% reconditioned OEM audio. YouTube videos showed how to pop out center console to install radio, which was easy, and now I am thrilled to have a completed OEM radio/CD unit. When I was shopping for my truck I saw where too many where people did self-installs on aftermarket radios and they used a cardboard cutter to cut the crap out of the console to install it. I refuse to do that with shoddy workmanship. Yes I wish I had Apple Play but not at the expense if ruining my truck.
2. Found and installed a new upper console sunglass holder (from EBay) that was a complete unit with lights, buttons and pop-open flap. Very easy and one more fix to get my baby back to OEM condition.
3. Next job is to order a new rear gate rubber weather strip gasket as mine is a bit worn. Hopefully that's an easy install.

Changed the oil and filter with some Lucas Synth 5W30 and I've been using the extra capacity filters Wix 51516. I now have 268700km on the clock. I also greased all grease nipples in the drive train and the 2 front stabilizer end links.
two things to note:
A small drip of fluid has formed on the drivers side boot on the rack
but the PS fluid level hasn't moved since to last time I checked it... Maybe a rack replacement is in my future.
Also, I noticed a small bubble of grease on the rear-wards facing side of the LBJ boot, on both sides. I replaced the LBJ's about a year ago, and replaced my suspension last Summer/Fall-- about 6mos. between them. I greased all nipples at the same time as the suspension job and saw no grease on the boots. The new suspension provided a 1 to 1.5" lift. I'm just a little sensitive about LBJ's considering the history. Everything seems tight, but should I be worried? anyone else notice this phenomenon?

Just after I bought my '99 I had my mechanic do a complete check-over and he found rear cam seals leaking (had him replace) as well as valve cover gaskets leaking (replaced those too). Now no spots of oil in driveway. And since one of my ball joints were bad after I purchased I bought all 4 new and had the replaced. Installed OEM replacement antenna mast: The end of the old antenna plastic strap appeared to have broken off. After removing everything to get to the motorized assembly, I opened it up and found that a 12" piece of the old antenna had broken off inside, so I am glad I took off the quarter panel flare and shroud over the wheel to get to it. What a PITA fix to a seemingly small, reasonably predictable problem! Clips, shroud grommets, plastic brackets for the 2" flare, flare trim pad (runs along the flare where it meets the body), and antenna itself total inc shipping was $174. OUCH! But I am proud of the fact that my 4runner antenna works like new now, no idea why I feel that way.
Anyways, I am going to get a new coat of OEM color paint and clearcoat. The original flare trim pads had all faded to white, so I decided to go ahead and pull off all the flares prior to repainting, and will be replacing the old trim pads rather than just having the body shop paint the old trim pads and flares while attached to the body (since the paint would eventually crack along the trim pad seams over time). The the trim pad color I ordered was "champagne", and appeared to be an exact match for the 4runner original color, Dorado Gold.
I also checked the breather valve on the diff and it was not seized up, which was stunning given all the mud I've cleaned off the bottom of this 4runner.
Shrockworks bumpers (front and rear), sliders and skid plates are on order, cant wait for that stuff to arrive!

Finished up a few things. Wired the 15 buck wireless controller to my winch control box. Cut some mounts for the electrical stuff using that acrylic. Primed and painted the mounts.
Got the main electrical done with a breaker and relay that stuffs nicely behind the battery. I still need to clean it all up but it's still in testing phase. Made a mount for all my 40A relays then mounted it on the firewall just below the hood. Finished the 3/4 amber LEDs in the factory filler panel. Played with my filler switch panel to replace that useless cubby hole and ashtray. WTF is with an ash tray light any way? Ripped apart the drivers side trim to gain access for the firewall passthrough. It's gonna be cut in right where the clutch would be. Then realized I didn't have my hole saw kit with me. Finished hooking the battery back up and tested everything. Blinkers work great and look pretty good too. The wireless winch controller works like champ. At least the small remote does. The larger controller doesn't work but that's what you get when you use cheap crap. I'll call Amazon and get a replacement on it's way.

I verified pos and neg on the LED's I used before I pulled the battery to do the electrical work. After I hooked it all back up and started the rig I had no blinkers. None, zero, zip. So I check everything and it's all wired correctly. I'm going into full Mattdown(my wifes name for my meltdowns) mode when I get on the net. First hit google returns is a thread TheDurk posted that flasher/blinker circuit on. I quick look and it dawns on me. The hazards aren't even plugged in because I have the center console apart to make my switch plate. Derp. I'm an idiot. So I plug them back in and everything works again. Thanks TheDurk. Much appreciated man.

I made my drivers side HID ballast go up in a cloud of smoke a while back and also fried the wiring harness. Finally replaced them and now I have working headlights again!
You have no idea how shitty it is to not have headlights. I kept getting caught out near/just after sunset so I would have to point my super bright led flashlight out the drivers window lol...

Whiteline Polyurethane LCA Bushings
Energy Suspension Steering Rack and Front/Rear Sway Bar bushings
Power Stop Tundra brake swap with the towing brake pads
Wheelers Red Stainless Brake Hoses Front/Rear
4 new front sway bar links for the Front and Rear. The rears dont bind up anymore now that the inks are longer
Got it aligned today (picking it up tonight) but even with the alignment roughed in the truck felt completely different and so much better.
The brakes are phenomenal. Its great to not have the brake shimmy and they bite hard I could put myself through the windshield if need be lmao
Next project is to drill and tap for new bolts to hold my skid plate on and beeline my inner fenders

4 new front sway bar links for the Front and Rear. The rears dont bind up anymore now that the inks are longer
Got it aligned today (picking it up tonight) but even with the alignment roughed in the truck felt completely different and so much better.
The brakes are phenomenal. Its great to not have the brake shimmy and they bite hard I could put myself through the windshield if need be lmao
Next project is to drill and tap for new bolts to hold my skid plate on and beeline my inner fenders
