Yeah, it's the ARB. 2000 model. I got it used from a friend. It's probably the best $200 I've spent on my truck, makes going to the beach much more enjoyable.

This was just about all in one day, I used one of my University CAD computers and put together a very simple platform roof rack design with some light mounting and a few nice odds and ends, but most importantly space for the RTT. All I need to do is finish up the welds on the legs and the grating for the platform floor.

I really need to get one too, they look really useful.
Today I ordered all new washers for all around fluid changes, OEM thermo and seal, and PCV valve and grommet. Will go get all the fluids this week and hopefully knock it out this weekend.

sunroof

tore apart the sunroof. 85% closed wouldnt move and leaking. motor was trying to go. CHALLENGE ACCEPTED =fatal last words. Got it apart this is what I found
Gear housing was the first warning


The cables were frozen in the tubes.


Packed in there was this nastyness. feels like hand cleaner with pumice. I guess just packed in for almost 20 years.


Got three of the 4 cable covers off. the 2 return covers came off fairly easily. the drivers side Had to be persuaded with MAAP gas. The last one is still fighting me. But challenge has been accepted so it will come off one way or another.

Fixed an AC line over the weekend with some quick steel. Worked great. Just recharged the system tonight. Used the AC Pro recharge kit from Walmart. $35. The system took entire can. Quick steel patch held no problem. AC blows colder than ever. Very pleased with the outcome.

I heard a hissing under hood. Popped hood and took a face full of refrigerant. The line rubbed the chassis cutting through it. It was an easy find since leak was so large.

I had used JB Weld before on my f150 to fix the AC line as well a few years ago. Worked perfectly for years until I sold the truck.
I wonder if that a common place for failure? I ran my tranny cooler lines through that hole and used some spare transmission tubing to use as a grommet for it. So that should keep mine from running through.

Well not today but added two trim packers on each side of the rear to get rear of my reverse rake. Loved the end result.

This is how I ended up replacing my sunroof last week.

Hint: If you run the tube over a torch, you WILL loosen up what's inside, but you'll also make the tube easier to accidentally bend, may melt the plastic casing off the cable, may also burn your hand like I did.

I finally decided $150 from a local junk yard for a verified working unit was just fine to pay.
