Just did the headlight adjustments, got em dialed. Super super easy stuff, went ahead and adjusted Thottle cable, and trans cable we now have OD functional, everything's so better. Shifts are smooth, everything is normal. Removed the thermostat and she is running at 153° nice and comfy..... New sway bar bushings as well

Installed the new kitty upgrade overnight

Thanks. I really just spray painted them to see if I would actually like the color before committing to having them powder coated (they were also looking pretty bad beforehand, so it was a pretty low risk move). Anyway, I used isopropyl alcohol to clean them thoroughly, followed by some 320 grit sandpaper to get the major grooves smoothed out; more isopropyl, masking (lots of masking, don't rush this step), then three coats of Rustoleum metallic primer + paint in "Rustic Mist" color, and finished with two coats of Rustoleum crystal clear enamel. I recently had to re-mask and touch up a little blemish that I picked up from a stray rock on the highway, but even the coverup is pretty much undetectable. Overall I'm a fan, and it was surprisingly easy if you're patient with it.

The only thing is, now I get lots of rock chips in the paint on my doors now that I took them off. Just did a couple hundred km over the weekend on gravel roads. I need to get the Limited flares on ASAP as well as some sliders to protect the paint.

Edit: of course the trim at either end of the old running boards, and the little chrome fender flares, were chaffing the paint so better to take them off.

Praying mantises really creep me the fu°k out. I mean they didn't always – but after my brief encounter with aliens that had praying mantis heads – well it's hard to stay chill with one of those damn things around. :hippie:
