When I bought this thing two years ago, I ordered a stereo and installation kit and it sat in a box all this time. I finally installed it and cut/clipped/pulled all the boombox wires that the kid before me had run all over the place.

anyone have anything negative to say about using Mobil 1 synthetic gear oil 75w-90 for the Front, Rear, and Transfer case? Was going to drain and fill all mine tonight and got a deal on that gear oil..
doing a quick search on here and google, seems to be ok though, just wanted to know if anyone had any first hand experience.

Been running it in mine for over 90k miles with no issues. It's good stuff.

Best use I could think of for it in my 97 as well. I just built a 2x2 collar to mount the sub and bolted it to the rear quarter panel. Then I dynamatted the whole panel. Basically using the cubby as the box. It's about 13% smaller volume then it should be for my 10" but it sounds fine.

He rides in the center console now. Got a little light to read by and a remote for the stereo. Life is pretty good in there he says.

My AC button decided to pop off today, cracked deep inside.

Guess I'm gonna have to blind epoxy it and hope for the best. If it gets glued in the engaged position I guess that will be okay, I'm a cold SOB

Picked up my first 4runner (not my first yota, used to have a fj40) Labor Day weekend. Spent the other part of the weekend planning and starting to build the cargo box/sleeper and getting the chrome fender trim and running boards removed. Spent sometime this week getting the wore out/faded "wood grain" removed. Other than that it's been slow. Hopefully get some more time this weekend to work on the box.

That's good too know it works, my plan is doing just that. 96 cubby has air compressor in it. I have a 10" wedge box in the 96 cargo area that wastes space. The cubby is bigger in the 01 so I'm good on volume.
Had thought of putting amp in cubby but heat would be a concern then. So stashing the amp under drivers seat, will save having to run heavy wires to the rear. :cheers:

But that makes me one too as this is a Westfield (Not that I expect anyone that is not in the UK to have heard of them! - one of the few Lotus 7 derived cars, the most famous probably being Caterham)

Yep. I have one that plugs into the back of the console. Easily one of my favorite mods. Well-designed, well-made. For a custom designed product like that $50 is a steal.

Yep. I would do it again too. Solid products. Have held up perfectly since I got it a year or two ago.

I also have the rear one as well.

Tossed in a new air freshener last night. Febreeze scent of Gain... I can say I am not a huge fan of the vent style clip on ones.

My wife's T4R came with a clip on one that went on the back of the seat, has oil in it, and is still putting out good smells over 9 months later...I wish I could find where that one came from.
