What did you do to your 3rd gen today?

This morning I parked my 3rd gen next to our new toy that we got at work... got to thinking maybe I should empty the emergency fund and start on a badass over”lind” build! It already comes with central tire inflation systems

anyone have any info on a set of orange side markers for our cars? that is not spray on tint stuff. Like actual Orange side markers to replace the clear/orange reflectors we have currently?

ive made a few searches and did not come up with anything relevant or what I could see on my work comp per pictures. a quick google keeps coming back with stock side markers.

Got bored on my day off so I tried out an amber color on my corner lights. Kinda like it!

Doesn't exist. This isn't a Civic...

There are OEM (Koito) clear corners from the rest-of-world Hilux Surfs and possibly aftermarket clear corners, but that's it.

lol, coming from the vw/audi world before getting my 4runner, everyone either paint matched their orange side markers or left them orange. If you put in clears it was more " civic-ish" then anything. Clears look worse imo, on everything.

Cheers dude, it's actually a Westfield, one of the few "Lotus 7" type cars we can get here. most are kit form but this was factory built. It's only about 100 -120 bhp (I have no idea of the engine spec) but it also only weights 500KG, so its fun! - about as different from the truck as I can get!

Sorted out all my tools today, put the truck in the garage ready for work.. caught hell off the girlfriend for "having time to do my hobbies"... - The oil coolers I'm about to fit I ordered in the summer of 2016... the Radiator arrived in July the AC stuff was late 2016... this is the first change I have had time to get some proper work done on my own stuff, booked a week off work especially, and I'm
catching hell!

Spent half a day going through '97 and '00 wiring diagrams to figure out how to do the dash bezel swap. I think I have it figured out, will go home and try to do the actual work and see what happens.

If I had known at the outset how long this research was going to take me, I probably would have just stayed with the '97 bezel and stuck the former console switches somewhere in the dash out:

How long face you had your corners painted with this? I’d be curious to see how these paints hold up in sunlight. I used krylon stained glass spray paint, wonder if there’s much difference

Another mundane milestone

Also, now that it's raining here, my windshield wipers WILL return to the home position no matter where I turn them off. They were previously sticking in the middle of the windshield if I turned them off at the top of their stroke. I guess like everything else in life, a little lube doesn't hurt.

Bought the 4runner over the weekend. The previous owner had an offroad bumper on it, so he removed it to drop the price for me. I picked up an OEM bumper but its got some rust. So last night I removed the turn signals, and lower valence (by cutting the bolts) and the next step will be to wire brush the back side of the bumper to stop any further rust. It was 100 bucks, but came with the turn signals and valence. Hopefully it will turn out good and be better than those ebay bumpers.

Congrats on your new to you 4runner!

Make sure you remove all the rest you can and hit it with a couple of coats of a rust converting primer, then paint

Tried connecting my Techstream to my ECM and to my surprise I get a "Selected system not responding or not available" message even though my Scanguage still gets info fine... I just wanted to check my fuel trim for shits and grins. I doubt its the cable I'm using as its the Mongoose Pro, so only other thing I can think of is the ECM itself.

It's really nice having a quiet cabin again. It makes for more comfortable highway trips. If I could just quiet down those darned poly sway bar bushings, then it might actually sound like a brand new 4runner!

I need to do this too. Previous owner had a Flowmaster installed and I find it annoying as fugg except when someone is irritating me – then I use the loud exhaust as a "weapon of annoyance" as well as a warning to others of a potential ass-whooping ahead if they don't stop doing whatever dumb shit they are doing to get on my radar.

I hate that I can't sneak up on anyone with my Flowmaster though...

With a quieter exhaust, I noticed people will more frequently mosey out in front of you in parking lots. I lost mad parking lot respect.

In all seriousness, replace that fart can; It's worth it
