It's been a year or so and I have had to touch them up a bit here and there but only because I wash my truck 2-3 times a week. The sunlight (lots of sun in CA) has had no noticable effect in this time.

FWIW my $15 knockoff cable and burned copy of techstream from amazon worked just fine for me and was super handy in diagnosing some stuff on my LX 100 series.
Plugged it into the 4runner and had no errors or issues either. That said, I didn't look into fuel trim, but it connected without issue and let me go through the available systems.
Maybe re-install the software?

I tried to fix the possessed auto-climate control by resoldering the header pins, it didn't help, I somehow cracked the LCD screen then I managed to break the damn wood grained trim panel around the hvac/stereo. Now I gotta find one of those, and find a functional climate control box.
I did order OEM LBJs, they'll be at the parts counter first thing in the AM.

Hey, I wanted to install a grab handle on my 00 2WD limited as well! How did it go? which type did you use? I think there are different bases for some grab handles on toyota vehicles. Help appreciated!

Get the same handle as exists on the passenger side from a junkyard, the screw bosses are already there under the headliner. Tall guys beware this mod becomes an obstacle for the grape on the daily.

Installed replacement MA598 antenna Yadapter by XC Source and Scosche MDAB micro-plug on my aftermarket head unit. The Metro Y adapter I ordered previously just didn't work for some reason.
This setup does not restore the diversity antenna capability, that function is controlled by the head unit, but now I have two antennas wired in and can listen to most stations with my main antenna down (antenna switch mod)

I did the same on mine, micro adapter and a Y connector both going into a single antenna input on an aftermarket radio. With a switch for the antenna as well. I leave the antenna down pretty much 100% of the time. I've found that by the time the reception fades on the rear window antenna, raising the main one only adds a few more miles/minutes of listening before that fades out as well.
And on my '99, the handbrake travel kept going up, to the point where it wasn't really holding very well. Which is a problem because it's a 5 speed, heh.
Time to take a look at the rear brakes, obviously. I looked, the problem seemed to be on the driver's side, with the handbrake on the little lever on the brake backing plate was about twice as far 'open' on that side as on the passenger side. So I took off that side (you could tell how loose the adjustment was by how easy the drum came off) and... nothing wrong in there. Work the lever, you could see the auto mechanism ratcheting and tightening the brake shoes. Nothing wrong that I could see at all. Click click click, ratchet, ratchet, ratchet.
Dunno, put the drum back on, worked the handbrake lever, you could hear the auto adjuster clicking away, maybe 10 or 15 clicks, then it stopped auto adjusting, the handbrake lever was in the middle of its travel, all seems well?
Not sure why it wasn't working, really all I did was take the drum off and look at it. I use the handbrake each time I park it. And I specifically worked the handbrake lever repeatedly when it started acting like that, since I know that's how the auto adjuster works.

Actually did this yesterday:
Replaced the cracked front bumper turn signals with Depo clears. OEM signals fit much better.
I also replaced the bulbs with LEDs, color with the original yellow incandescents looked faded/washed out. I finally found a LED that fits the front signals (the internal diffuser in OEM and aftermarket lenses blocks longer bulbs), are bright enough, and reasonably priced. The best "plug and play" 7440/T20 bulb I've tested are Philips Xtreme Ultinon but they're pricey and have to be purchased from an overseas source. I used these Profile Peak models https://www.theretrofitsource.com/led-bulbs/exterior-interior-bulbs/7443-profile-peak-led-bulbs.html. Another plus is it's a switchback design, meaning it also lights up white, but you'll need to change the socket to use this feature. Didn't use resistors since I changed to a LED-compatible flasher relay over the summer.
Next on the lighting mods list: Cut the socket openings off the old front signals and graft them on the corner lights so I can have bright parking and secondary turn signals.

I just got a rear drivers side grab handle from another 97 that was being parted out locally. As previously mentioned the screw bosses and under the headliner. Just made two small cuts with and exacto knife and then screwed them in. Im 6'1" and dont hit my head getting in but i can see that happening if youre any taller.

Installed a highland roof top basket on the 98 as well as put a JVC head unit in to replace the stock one. Getting ready to order fog lights for it as well.

I don't know why I thought you meant the EO stickers for the supercharger. Im looking for a set for when I install the supercharger and have to get the Runner smogged, but I will be getting those emblems when I do install the SC.
What I did today....ordered some OME 883 and 891 springs and B&M oil cooler. Having a buddy get me a good price on Bilstein Shocks. Hopefully next month I can get weathertec mats and take her wheeling up in Mammoth Lakes with some snowboarding. It'll be my first and my runners first time going out wheeling.
