Interesting, do you think the mount will hold?

Yeah, not sure. Most of the mounting pad is on the hard plastic of the dash, which is a very good base, but a small part of it overhangs the padded dash, which is pretty useless. The problem is I had to have the mount this far forward to allow it to articulate enough for me to point the phone at my face.

We'll see how it holds.

Will do . I've had very good experience with SCOSCHE mounts in the past, but I never had to cantilever part of it like I did here. If it falls off, I'll look for a Plan B (any suggestions?).

I've recently started using a cd mounted holder. Even that manages to rattle off when I'm wheeling but it works fine and stays put for city driving. The obvious disadvantage is you can't change CD's easily. Not a big deal for me since all my tunes are on memory sticks or my MP3 player.

I'm still looking for a better alternative. I really like the magnet holders and have never had the magnet not hold the phone. It's always the adhesive that fails. I've even tried gluing one to my center bezel and that also failed. At some point I'll make a mount that attaches with a bolt. I'll report back when I get around to it.

Installed a 1/4" top hat spacer on the driver side and took her out on the dirt

I have a magnetic phone mount using an adapted Panavise bracket and some Ram hardware. I love this thing!

I do like the mount, but I like mine to be higher up, I don't like taking my eyes off the road to look at the nav on the phone. But it's a good Plan B. I guess there's also the option of doing damage (i.e. drilling holes) in the dash to mount it securely, I'm just not ready for that yet.

Bought a Black & Decker battery charger for my rig. Been going out of town alot so thought I might want a way to maintain the rig's charge (automatically charges and goes to float mode, also can check the voltage on my alternator/battery)

More work on the wifes 00 4runner. Replaced her bent rear lower control arms with a pair of straight ones from my 97. Also took the front wheels off to check the brake pads and rotors. Also checked the lbjs and found no play whatsoever.

Replacing those rear lowers I'd suggest being extra extra sure it is tightened down properly, perhaps even with locktight. When they come off it can be catastrophic. Most folks (like me) are running factory still after all these years. Never removed and little chance they'll come loose. But I have seen here on T4R the aftermath of one coming loose and it basically totalled the whole rear suspension.

I'm sure there are but I have left mine alone. They aren't rusted and don't appear worn out.
