A break in the weather coincided with me needing to do an oil change/rotate the tires. Found a small bird (rip) in my skid plate; little fella must've came at the grille then tumbled down. Hate to see that After an impromptu burial I discovered the source of a faint rustling noise when engaging 4wd (at least that's when I noticed it): this sort of fibrous, plastic panel that runs along the driver's side had broken free from its attachment points and was jammed up next to the drive shaft. Judging by the "polishing" it gave it, had been that way a while. So another thing to add to the salvage yard list, a pseudo skid plate made of rubber and straw?

Just picked up my remote start and bypass module! Just now debating to do it myself or go to a shop. I have done them before but normally takes a weekend and not sure if I wanna deal with it lol.

Swapped my 265/70/16 Falken A/T3W's for 265/75/16 BFG KO2's and went on a 500 mile drive.

Loved the look of the larger tire, and the smooth ride, but noticed the gas mileage drop from an already uninspiring 17.5 to an abysmal 16 mpg with the C rated tires. So if I confirm these readings on the drive back, I'll probably go to the 265/75/16 Falkens or try the Hankook AT-M Dynapros.

It keeps dirt/spray off the driveshaft and fuel filter. Not a big deal - they were only on the 4WD models from some of the years.

Had work off today so finally got around to replacing a burned out fog light bulb. Have always used Nokya Yellow bulbs in my vehicles but wanted to try the hella 85w bulbs, opened the box and only had the single bulb. Replaced it any way and there isn't too much of a color difference, but it will drive me crazy so I'll order another set of Nokya bulbs.

While I was out there I figured I would finally take off the running boards, and I also took off the little piece behind the front wheels and cut it so that there wasn't such a cutoff on the front flares. Doesn't look too bad now. Looks great IMO without the running boards.

Trans filter and shift solenoids. Check engine light tripped 3-4 days ago. Got them and the filter for $96 on Amazon as opposed to $365 at the local chain store. Was ready to put on a scuba suit and dive in when I realized that theres a DRAIN PLUG! :banana: What a concept! 1st time I've pulled a pan without making a huge mess.

Everything looked nice and clean, no metal filings etc. Took a couple of hrs taking my time.
