Got an estimate to repaint all my Limited cladding from a very reasonable and helpful body guy in my area. $700, if I take the cladding off and bring it to him. Not unreasonable, but I think I'll do it myself, like I don't have enough projects as it is .

Ceramic coated my SCS matte gunmetal Ray10s

2 layers of Carpro CQUK ceramic coating on the whole wheel including barrels and those little cubbies behind the spokes. Not sure why i did 2 coats as the first layer tired me out. The coating made the wheels a tiny tiny bit darker and is more satin than matte. The coating also made the contrast pop. I'm loving the details it shows with the coating.

I also have more 4runner goodies coming soon!

Finally had the time to remove passenger side axle that had a torn boot. Cleaned up all the grease and installed new axle.

It's been a long winter... and I've decided that regardless of the 3 feet of snow that is left... Spring is here... so f@ck it! lol!

Roads are bare.. so on sunny days, I'll drive it. ha ha!

That looks sweet, nice work! Do you have a professional ceramic coating shop? I've had pistols cerakoted before, curious what wheels would cost.

Or you can use the rear glass struts from a hundred series Landcruiser and some rivets. It's not bolt on, it requires drilling two holes. Works great for about 20 bucks.

Yes, takes a little bit of drilling but very simple to do. There's already some holes in the hood and fender anyway so if you ever removed them it wouldn't be ugly or anything like that. I did mine a few months back and they are great, even in cold weather:

Got the rear driveshaft back. The shop didn't get all of the grease fittings aligned in DC joint, and the way that they had the middle fitting orientated there was no way that the grease gun was going to get the one. The counter guy says to just drop the driveshaft to grease it..

I told him that I needed it to function the way that it was supposed to, just like the way it was when I dropped it off. He takes the shaft into the back, I can hear him pounding out the u-joints. He comes back out 20 minutes later and says that the fitting broke when he tried to back it off, so he put a short straight fitting in there that a grease gun will never reach.

I get to my work area, install the shaft and take off on the beltway. It starts vibrating at 70 mph. This is after they claim that they checked the balance and it was good. :redbrick:

Not the end of the world, but damn this gets frustrating. I'll be calling them back on Monday.

Finally converted all my interior lights to LED. It really does make a huge difference.

Had some material leftover so I made a fridge slide. 2x2x1/8” aluminum angle and 16 gauge steel sheet. Only cost was slides.

Both the angle and sheet are a little lightweight for the application. So I’ll probably beef if up a bit by welding end plates on the tray. It’s also bolted to the under tray through the rubber “feet” bolts.

Rolls nice, still needs some details, paint and a latch of some kind.

May build a low profile drawer under it too, for basic hand tools.

Overdue Post

Wrapping it up today, but over the last week and a half, installed a new head unit, new kicker speakers all the way around, bought trail wheels from an 18 runner, bought new tires, got all the misc lights working again in my air condioner cluster and I am about to apply this leather conditioner to the seats to try and salvage at least the rears and what’s left of the fronts.

It’s been a big week for us.

I might even get really wild and pull the trigger on an ELocker Rear end Ive had my eye on

Got started on my 1" body lift late last night, I'll post pics when completed.
Also, got in on the coastal group buy, why redrill my stock bumper when I can order a new one with a 1" body lift modification!
