I think those were best tape measures ever made, I couldn't believe it when Stanley stopped making them. All of mine slowly disappeared or broke, but one day I saw an Ebay listing for six new ones. I bought all six .

I did the breather extension while I was waiting for the axle parts . My original breather was not clogged, so I don't think that it was much of a contributor to the blown seals. Interestingly, when I took apart the driver side axle (the one that was not yet leaking externally), I found lots of diff fluid in the cavity, so it was on its way out.

I made the mistake of ordering two rear axle kits from Marlin Crawler, thinking it would be one convenient bundle. Unfortunately the most critical parts of the kit, the seals, were not Toyota, and not the new and improved design. So I was not going to use those kits, and had to scrounge for new parts at the last minute. Hence the one week downtime. But I'm on the road again now, yay!

Trying to return those kits is going to be fun, Marlin Crawler does not pick up the phone or reply to emails.

Good luck returning them. MC has days of goodness, then other times it is all Monday.

Just learning from the years of DYI shadetree wrenching, breathers, such as PCVs and those for axles, can rattle just fine but can be bad. I have seen such more than once. When in doubt, replace, for they aren't hard on the wallet.

Yup, this was my first and probably last transaction with them. The listing states "Genuine Toyota", but that was not the case. I'll try contacting them a few more times, then start a dispute with PayPal.

Had some 265/75/16 E Duratracs installed. They are BIG compared to my boxstore tires on it before. Also quieter and feels like I’m riding on a cloud.

No build thread. I'm not cool enough to have one .

These are legit hilux visors but I guess it does look different from that angle. They're pretty darn wide/deep and I assure you these are oem toyota from a hilux surf. Might sell these if you're interested but they cost a pretty penny.

I sent my 100 feet of 5/16th Master Pull Superline back to them to have them cut it down to 75 feet for main winch line and use the rest as an extension. I wanted to give myself a bit of room for re-spooling and or possible side pulls where it could spool unevenly. This will also give me more options. I had called up Victor and explained what I wanted to do, and he was like, "No problem". They are pretty local to me as they are based out of Bellingham, Washington, so shipping, even USPS shipping only takes a day. Let's hear it for buying local!! Woot!

Finally got a spare mounted under the truck.

When I bought the 4Runner, it had a matching 285/75r16 spare, but it wasn’t mounted (because it didn't fit in the stock location). So I actually never carried it with me.

I’ve since downsized my tires to 265/75r16 (ETS Trail Master M/T) and found a same sized tire for 20$ (Bridgestone Dueler A/T) that I could use for a spare.
Pretty sure it was a GM spare. It came mounted on a rusty rim, but had no mileage on it.
Spent another 25$ to have it mounted on a matching Limited rim and I now have a usable spare in the stock location.

Getting ready to pull the trigger on the new Denso evap core, expansion valve and dryer to get colder than 50° air from the vents. I've been forced to drive the Civic just so that I don't overheat.

New Denso rad in the recently rescued $500 '97 Limited rig, The Denso came with the side brackets too. Popped on a new hose also and in my hurry I almost got 550 CCA's of lightening show from the battery bracket....oops.

You just can't beat Harbor Freight's shockingly low prices.


Accomplished replacing the steering rack and sway bar bushings with the help of Tim and Sam Bishop’s tutorial videos. Pretty straightforward job. Just took me 8 hours because I'm a potato when it comes to car repairs

Today I gutted the whole rear section of the interior.
I knew there was rust going on, but my floor jack punching through the pass. rear corner made me lift the carpet to see what was up.

I also want to run a 4ga cable from the battery to have my inverter installed in the back.

Also found why I had a flickering left taillight when it was raining... craptastic installation of a hitch kit + rust as see in there...

Well at least I found what was that clunking from the back... total lack of body mount and the rear bumper staying in place be sheer determination.

Where were u putting the floor jack to make that happen? Usually I put it under the axle.

It was just laying in the back. I worked on the truck late this week and didn't feel like moving it indoors and rain was coming.

It's a rather large 3tons hydro high-rise jack.
Not that heavy, it's just the floor basically didn't exist where I put it.

It didn't fall through, it's just the caster that "fell" in the floor.
