4Runner4Leon sorry to here about what happened Leon. People suck sometimes.

Thanks Nelson! I put hundreds of hours into that trailer, so it was pretty heartbreaking to see it ransacked like that.

The thing is that they didn't make off with more than probably $500-1000 worth of stuff, but they tore everything out in the process, cut off all the wiring harnesses, pried all the door locks, so it'll take lots of effort to rebuild it. I suppose that the $100 they'll get for the stuff they stole can buy you enough meth these days to make it wortwhile. Oh, and the toilet seat has got to be worth something . Hopefully they spilled the battery acid all over themselves.

Okay so I have put two Advanced Auto alternators in my 4Runner and neither one have had any output. Was told i needed to buy an actual Toyota alternator from a dealership or buy one from a junkyard. Any advice to what years alternators would swap over on a 2004? Also has anyone else has this problem?:noidea:

You were fed a line of bullshit.

You should however, check the "Field" wiring of the alternator. There i two connections. One is direct to battery, the other is a control circuit basically. Check to make sure the control circuit is doing it's job.

FWIW: Toyota would be a "better" part, but that does not mean an aftermarket part will not work.

My first "real" post!

This weekend I replaced:
Front strut assemblies
Front brake rotors
Front pads
Rear struts
Rear springs

Everything went swimmingly!

Thanks to all the guide writeups on here, that is. :biggrin1:

Thanks - T

Finally got editing done of the trip I took. Battle damage just a P0770 :-/...

I hate people who are complete aholes. Let them rot in the desert.....:rockthrow:

First post btw

Fixed the horn (wires smashed) spliced in new wiring and was good to go. Side note: last week I got it running for the first time in over a year. Such a weight has been lifted.

Put my new drawers in. Fridge has to sit a bit far forward so it can open properly but not too much of an issue. Just need to make some sides up and carpet them.

Finished the front end refresh with the hood scoop repaint and also tracked down and repaired a broken washer nozzle

suspension refresh

Front and rear billy 5100's 5th gen rear springs, 99 tall fronts and new sway bar bushings front and rear. Rides so nice without the original 211k mile old shocks in it!

Top radiator neck snapped off and truck overheated so yesterday I replaced radiator and did a full coolant flush with distilled water. Waiting on new thermostat and then I can finish everything up.

I got some Lotus lower control arm skids. I figure it's done cheap insurance.

Very nice! Let us know if it reduces the coolant temp more than your old one. BTW: your brake fluid looks black!:scared:

I have noticed it runs a bit cooler
Currently fluctuates between 183-187 in 90+ ambient temps (Florida) with A/C on
Previously with the old rad it was a consistent 190 all day long

Brake fluid just looks dirty in the pics. The master cylinder and fluid are only a few months old. Did a full system flush at time of replacement.

How have I not noticed the 73 Duster before? Right on, I rarely see any others around anymore. Here's my 72 340 car, parked in it's reserved spot haha.

The duster also has a champion radiator, they are a great value for the price. 4Runner is still going strong with a factory one.

Damn she looks great! Nobody plays with the old stuff any more especially in the 21 and down age group. Everybody has a new Mustang or Camaro except me :dancin:

Another Mopar guy here... Here's my '74 Dart Sport 360 that I had as a teenager.
:hail: Love it man! I did the 70s style for a bit but switched to a more protouring vibe to do autocross and road racing. Should be a hand full with wide @$$ wheels and tires, manual steering and a stroker big block out front :bigok:
One day Ill get a 71 Satellite or Roadrunner and do a proper 70s day two build

Finally got the rear brakes finished on my '01! Started because I had a cylinder that had burped fluid a couple of times under hard braking. After replacing the cylinder and shoes, I noticed the drums were a little over dimension, so I replaced them as well. After putting it together I thought I would adjust the parking brake. At that point I realized the bellcranks were seized, so I tore the brakes apart one more time and ordered one more part and replaced them as well. Lastly, I removed the console and adjusted the tension on the parking brake cable. Overall between fixing the front bakes a couple of weeks ago and now the rear, there is a huge improvement in braking on the runner, and I even have a functional e-brake! Not sure why the image flipped over when I uploaded it...I assure you I didn't work on it upside down!

Tore apart my rear hatch and put the lock back together and fixed the broken wiring harness. Feels great to roll down the rear window again.

Very cool, I think my bell cranks are seized too. Been hesitating to take the rears apart. soon! Congrats

Had a 400/451 stroker in my old 71 Duster with all manual -trans, steering, brakes, windows. My buddies joked the only power in the car was the engine and my arms from steering it. Fun, brutally fast car but you could never really relax while driving it.

Current 340 car has AC and power steering. Never did like mopar's power brakes, so I pulled it off. More of a daily drivable toy than my previous muscle car builds.
Nice cars guys! Sorry to pull us off topic for all the non mopar peeps on here.
