Ha! I like that. I was also thinking about one that was a checklist of all the things 3rd gen owners are all too familiar with:

1. LBJ?
2. Pink Milkshake?

So the question is, has anyone used the Metra splitter for both on an aftermarket deck? And does that 2nd antenna really help at all or is it gimmicky?

I have an aftermarket head unit and did get the splitter for the diversity antenna. Also, I wired in a switch for the power antenna and do not use it under normal circumstances (when I'm within 50 miles of my favorite station). As my reception fades with distance I have tried the power antenna and have found that it does, indeed, offer very little improvement in reception.

The power antenna continues to work, though.

In the first photo, my guess is either the main harness for the factory radio or the factory amp.

In the second photo, the smaller one is the jack for the diversity antenna that’s embedded in the rear passenger side quarter glass. You’ll need a Metra splitter (or equivalent) of you want to run it to an aftermarket head unit. The factory radio has hookups for both, aftermarket radios only accept the larger one for your front passenger fender antenna.

The two small white ones in the first pic right above my hand go into the factory amp. Does the factory head unit have 2 plugs?(one from amp and the one in my hand?)

Cool good to know about the secondary antenna, I’ll leave it unhooked for now.

The power antenna will use the blue wire from the harness of your new head unit. Simply wire in a dash mounted toggle switch somewhere in the blue wire on the head unit harness or the car's harness. If you are adding a amp/sub woofer, that will also use the blue wire to trigger the amp's power. Install the switch after the connection to the amp on the way to the power antenna.

Also, the small plug is for the antenna in the RR window. That's the one you'll really want to have connected after your power antenna fails. The necessary adaptors should be less than $20.

The second antenna only helps in certain circumstances and only with a radio receiver designed for it. A 'dumb' splitter may make reception better, but it may also make it worse.

If you are only rarely going to use the radio, hook up to the rear glass antenna (they have adapters for the smaller connector) and then use the fender hole for a CB/HAM antenna...

I used a splitter to use both antennas and wired up a switch so i can keep the retractable antenna down. Since doing that I rarely have to use the retractable antenna, the antenna in the right rear window is almost always all i need.

One could connect it to the amp and the other one would have the speakers/ power wires running into the radio. I’ll check later and update if I can remember when I get home from work.

Very helpful thank you so much! Very odd as the aftermarket harness I got for my head unit only uses the wire harness from the amp.. hopefully it works lol.
