I didn't know that existed, thanks for sharing, let us know about the fitment.

I haven't got around to fitment yet, but this thing weighs a ton. It was made out of 3/8" steel!!!!!! Way over built. I was having an issue getting the new trans lined up the other night, so I took a beer break and haven't got back to work yet.

Nice, thanks for the pics.

Fuel injectors. Crushed the top o ring 3 times on cylinder 1 injector before I got the rail seated properly...gas everywhere I tell ya.:wow2:

Painted my side cladding and fender flares to match, that Dupli Color Perfect Match is DAMNNNNN close! Removed the awful side steps as well!

Bumpers and wheels this weekend as well as putting on the new hood.

38-44 psi (KOEO) worth of squirt will surprise anyone. Stay safe man!
What did you do differently to make all the o-rings seat the same time?

Stopped being lazy and fully removed upper timing cover and throttle body to give my hands more space to work and allow tools to fit in spots better to torque down properly.

I think part of the problem was actually that the "sleeve" on the front plastic spacer was cracked so it wasn't seating in the fuel rail properly, therefore when I torqued down the bolts for the plast spacer it changed how the rail sat on the o ring. Once the plastic spacers were replaced along with the damaged o ring it was fine.

Wired up BX Built custom LED headlights with halo switchbacks. Highly recommended.

Also got the addicted offroad bumper color matched to thundercloud metallic at Seattle Powder Coat utilizing Prismatic Powders Galaxy Silver. Also highly recommended.

I'm waiting for some parts that I missed on an order to come in, so I ran to Pick-N-Pull in the hopes of finding a replacement for the only remaining piece that's dented on my 4Runner, the driver's side rear bumper end. Wouldn't you know it, there was a '99 that had just gotten there a couple of days ago, and one of the only pieces that wasn't dented on that one was the exact part I needed!

I didn't have an impact wrench at the yard, so under torque the head of the bottom bolt that attaches to the mud guard snapped right off. Was completely seized in the welded nut that it screws into. Once I got it home I soaked it in cutting oil, drilled a hole through what was left of the bolt, and tried a reverse threaded bolt extractor. The extractor dug in and promptly snapped. Ended up having to just use a cutoff wheel to cut the welded nut off, then drill the hole back out.

And as is the norm when working on a 22 year old car, I now have another part to order. The flap in the driver's side pressure vent crumbled as soon as I touched it. I'll try to fab something up, but If it's a lost cause then I'm just going to order a new one. Has anyone done a homemade fix on one of these?

color match looks grand my friend...

did you replace the rubber fender flare liner too? it looks new!

Finally got my 4wd transmission lined up and installed. Got all the hoses plumbed and wiring reconnected. Replaced the transmission filter, torqued the pan back on, installed proper dipstick and tube (4wd has a deeper pan and longer dipstick than 2wd). Only added 4 quarts of transmission fluid so I can check it for leaks before completely filling it.
I'm not 100% sure I want to add the Trail Gear transmission mount/bash plate as it weighs so dang much. I might just try and be creative with other options first.

I’ve had my 5th gen for 4 years, and for the past year I’ve had the itch for a 3rd gen.. unfortunately where I live they are all rusted to death, or almost as much as my 15... one day I hope to join the ranks.

That is exactly what I was looking to do, but I didn't find anything for our chain driven transfer cases. Only saw these for 2nd Gen and earlier gear driven cases. Did you make this yourself? If so, great job!!

I made it. FYI FROR makes this type of mount for the chain tcase, I don't have any 1st hand exp with said

Put Eibach Pro Truck Sport shocks in all 4 corners, Tire Rack had a deal I couldn't pass up, plus I didn't want to hop on the 5100 bandwagon. Handles like a racecar...love it! Firm but soft...apparently digressive on the compression and rebound with bleeder valves for a progressive or linear feel when needed (per tacomaworld site). Got a small lift out of it. Also did the WD-40 frame conditioning treatment, works well on rear spoiler and cargo tracks as well...
