thanks....using the search i guess its common on the 3rd and 4th gens...I guess nothing a sawzall wont fix ..the tech said that they need to be cut out with a torch and he uses "SPC" brand when he worked at another shop that did big repairs.

Dang they're not making it easy for you on this one! Props for persevering in the face of all the challenges.

Heck yeah - Bulgaria! What is the minimalist spare tire swing-out setup you seem to have there? I didn't see it in your photos....

It's just the spare wheel carrier from the right hand brother, the Hilux Surf. I mounted it awhile back and has been doing pretty good ever since.

Installed the OEM timing cover sticker since my old one blew off a long time ago. Also removed my stock intake tubing and replaced it with an Airaid tube. Cleans up the engine bay quite a bit and fits very well. If anyone knows how to resize pictures so I can post them, it’d be greatly appreciated. I’ve already tried the resizing websites but nothing seems to work

Replaced pcv valve hose , crank case vent hose , pressure tested my charcoal canister and all the valves , I believe the vps was bad ...350,411

Yeah, I thought I'd use the knockout panel to hold a cheap home depot switch instead of ordering a switch that fits it. Not the cleanest solution but I actually like the look of it

it's functional.. and it gets the job done. tell me.. what program do you use to resize photos? I swear that this is the only site where you still have to do this.

Whaaaaa? I'd call the man and mention that you bought it while 'In Stock'. He was always good to me. Pretty sure the owner answers the phone (name escapes me). These things are burly and I had no concerns yesterday on the Rubicon* trail - hitting a few obstacles on purpose just for fun.


* For real Rubicon runners, I only did the first 4 miles from the Tahoe side (not far past the Barker Pass junction) - no real tech sections like the meat of that crazy iconic trail, but still fun!


I'll use this excuse for a couple pics of the fat-lipped lowrider with the odd paint job'd 4XI skids. I need a bumper. Can't wait to go back.

RE: Posting my license plate online: My petty criminal past is behind me - come get some. Big Brother's AI is so far up in our mobile apps already I have more important things to worry about. Those "Your Speed Is/Slow Down"....signs on the roads with the little blue lights? My wife buys all kinds of this stuff for the local Gov and it ain't there to help you! LOL -we're doomed.

I use Photoshop to change the size and quality. I've only posted a couple photos on here, so I haven't looked into any other programs that can do it for me. But it's a pretty quick process when you know your way around Photoshop. Is there something simpler that most people use?
