Changed my transfer case gear oil. Went with Lucas 75W-90 since it was most readily available at my local Zone of Auto. I'm not sure this service had ever been done before but I'm glad I finally got to it at 293,196 miles. Stuff that came out looked like sh*t and smelled as bad. New stuff looked quite golden and pure. Smelled better too.
"Winterization" efforts are almost complete. Next step is new tires since my five-year-old GY Wranglers are down to 2/32 or so. The GY Wranglers have served me well as 50K DD tires in an urban and suburban environment but I'm probably going with the Michelin LTX M/S2 this time since I'd like to try something new and the Michelins seem to have rave reviews.

Replacing transfer case oil has massively improved my shifts into 4WD. Prior to the change, it would take what felt like 30 seconds for the vehicle to shift into the 4WD (HI) and give me the four "green wheels" indicator. It would just sit there with the blinking orange circle for what felt like forever and not shift into 4WD.
After changing the transfer case oil, the shift into 4WD is virtually immediate. I push the button and I'm in 4WD in 2-3 seconds. Or less. I wasn't expecting this much improved performance. Actually I wasn't expecting any at all. This is an amazing improvement for such a simple maintenance job!

Lowered the rear window all the way down like I did many times with the key in the tailgate. Only thing this time is it didnt go back up with the key.
Key in the ignition and turned the ignition to on and tried the rear window switch and...nothing.
It soposed to storm tonight and all day tomorrow and my rear window is wide open, cant go back up.
I popped the rear tailgate inside plastic cover off. And unplugged the rear tailgate ecu and then reconnected it.
Tried to raise the rear window again with the key in the tailgate, and the rear window finally went all the way up.

I'll take a better picture of mine. I didn't have to do any of that sunroof controller magic. It plugged right in and sunroof works as it should.

I've only driven it like 20 miles after the swap, and have been out of town ever since, so the truck has been parked and I can't comment on how it would compare to other setups. It didn't feel much different from my KYB shocks and OME springs for those 20 miles, but I only drove it on paved roads.
I heard really good things about Dobinsons, but I doubt they'd be in the same league as Kings - but that's just my opinion.
ok...not a 4runner...but tonight finished the 3 inch lift using OME springs and shocks and stuff on my sons 2016 Taco...

I was impressed with the quality of all the parts ...it rode very nice....and they make lift kits for the 4runners as well.

Replaced the driver side valve cover half moons. I replaced the valve cover gaskets earlier this year and had chipped one of the half moons but didnt replace it thinking i could get away with it :frusty:
Finally replaced the driver side half moons. Hopefully no more leaks!

Knocked out my auto transmission shifter bushings last night at 10 PM. Boy what a job that was. Thanks to [MENTION=120071]mtbtim[/MENTION] for the phenomenal YouTube how-to video, couldn’t have done it without that! Feels like a night and day difference honestly. Crazy how little bushings can make such a drastic difference. Now I’m eager to do my steering rack bushings
The truck was off when I tried the key in the rear gate. And the truck was on when I tried the rear window switch.
So...ya...I did turn the truck off, and back on again.
Nothing better to do huh?? I just posted my issue to help a member down the road having a same issue.

I think he's commiserating with your troubleshooting experience... I once could not get the AC to work on my 1st gen and the issue indeed turned out to be that a switch needed to be unplugged and plugged back in.
Have you checked all the grounds that interface with that circuit?

If you expected a serious answer maybe you should've posted it in a less relaxed thread. If you're just gonna get unnecessarily pissed off over a literal joke that's not even aimed at you directly, maybe you should drop this website for something like Twitter where the other snowflakes hang out.
