I (didn't) needed something to do....
I'd already added a tall center console to the '96 some time ago, but found one that was a better color match at the junkyard so pulled it and- on a whim- grabbed the rear heater assembly to mess around with too. The lines in the newer 3rd gens appear to be made out of aluminum, not steel as the earlier ones were. The tees are still steel, will have to keep an eye on them.
Assembly and hard lines are in, have some of the hoses, waiting on 8mm coolant line to finish the plumbing. I'd already bought the heater control valve as a maintenance item awhile ago.

Nice score, I want to get those too! My understanding is that they are not aluminum, but stainless - even better.
The 90 deg coolant hoses in the back have different diameters on each end, naturally. You can probably make it work with a single diameter hose, but the OEM ones are pretty cheap and still available.
It's pretty easy stuff to bend...interesting that it's stainless, I'll have to change my post.
Good to know about the hoses, may go that route for the aux heat to pipe, thanks!
It's not magnetic, but some stainless isn't either...no worries.I'm just going by what others have said., so that could be wrong info!

Aluminum, stainless, spaghetti...all that matters to me is that it doesn't rust and toss all my coolant on the ground![]()
Dangit!
I kinda am...
We'll let octanejunkie scratch his when he pulls it offSupposedly you can tell by scratching it - although I'm sure you won't want to do that.
And here are the hoses you need, 2 and 3 in the diagram (I added the part number in the table)
yes those front diff drains can be an absolute pain in the arse. Had one, no problem....a 2nd that I could not budge and stripped and gave up. Now my current one is due and not looking forward to it. Have read that if you clean them well, heat them up real good, they will come out. Have read of people having to work real hard and several tricks to get out. And have read of people switching to the lexus drain plug after finally getting out the old one. ( lexus uses a socket instead of an allen head)Did a drain and fill on my rear diff. Out came AMSOIL 80W-90 and in went SuperTech full syn 75W-90. Also stripped my front diff drain bolt and attempted to use an extractor set to remove said stripped drain bolt with negative results.

if you do a search you will find many ways/tricks to get that drain plug out. I believe even timmy ( MTBTM) shows how he did a stuck one on you tube
