Also recently finished the TBU. Brembo rotors, Akebono pro act pads, and Powerstop calipers. Very impressed thus far. New copper lines and
S/S fittings on both sides of the fancy red Adventure Tacoma S/S braided lines. New end links with poly bushings, CVJ axles and OEM LBJ’s. Riding great for a 26 y/o truck! Set up currently, Falken Rubitrek A/T, OME COILS (2906, 2880) and Bilstein 4100 series shocks/struts. Oh and also finished the B&M tranny cooler w/filter install same time as brakes. So much research time saved and confidence gained thanks to this site/ @%1; and @%1; vids, muchos gracias amigos.

Nice. How does your pedal feel after the TBU? I have a 1997 and considering tbu but concerned about the pedal feel/throw. Are you happy you did it?

Pressed out my old rear lower control arm bushings and replaced with polyurethane ones from whiteline. Doing panhard and uppers tomorrow.

Feels completely different now!

bottle jack and a little heat should pop them out no prob.

That's for the fronts not the rears. For the rears, you really do need a press.

I replaced my damaged lowers with Rokmen, but the panhard bar & rear UCA
bushings I pressed out with what I imagine was the same method as yours.

Fixed a busted clip in front-passenger door handle (wouldn't open from outside).

The first time this happened on the driver side I didn't have a manual or this site and spent an afternoon replacing the entire handle. This time took me 10 minutes. Knowledge is power.

Is that the clip that holds the rod between the door handle and the latch? Went to open my door one day and heard a snap and my interior door latch stopped working, but I’m assuming it’s the same idea for the outside. Looks like there’s a little clip that’s broken that I’m guessing held the rod back in place so wasn’t sure if this was the part.

Yep, just a clip that attaches the latch rod to the external handle. I've only had issues with the external handles but yes, same idea.

I believe the clip you're looking for is either 69759-20060 or 69759-20070 (left/right but I"m not sure which is which). I can get these online from my local dealer for under $3/each. In-person they're $7.

I don't, unfortunately. It was honestly a real pain in the pecker, I will say. If you can have some lend a hand then it'll make things a lot easier. Having to manipulate the hatch alone would be a major pain and I suspect you'd be out there working on it for a while. Took my friend and I around 2 hours from start to finish.

I suggest having your Phillips head at the ready, a 10mm stubby, a 10mm racheting wrench, needle nose pliers, a flashlight for sure, red bull, and patience.

we got you Leon! when I return from Mexico I plan to record this repair/replacement/fix depending on the seriousness of your door lock being pushed through or not. and some part numbers to help upgrade 96-98 rear license plate bezels.....

replaced my heater fan motor...so what you might say...ive been living without for a few days..no fun in this world...had to do it in driveway...took today off to do it.. ( part came in monday)..luckily today was only minus 4 ...by the end my 1/4 inch ratchet wanted to stick to my hands....im not good with tight places and gloves...thankfully the heater motors are easy to get to. the joys of living in the outback of alaska
btw...did not notice my fan had been going out for a while..new one blows a lot more air....went Denso

I cleared 4" of snow off mine so that I could go buy some nicotine pouches this morning. Those windshield covers are freaking clutch when you know you are going to get a good storm and get it on in time. Don't have to worry about scraping the windshield and keeps ice off your wipers. Got lazy though and didn't put it back on when I got back but there's not much snow on it now so should be pretty easy to clear.
