What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

1. Hosed down the frame to remove salt - found some bad rust spots that will require attention come spring.

2. Lubed drive shafts and joints, although I still can't find that mysterious zerk that supposedly lives in the front of the rear shaft. I've been 'chirping' for weeks now so I'm hoping that'll get it.

3. While I was under the truck, the mailman delivered my LED reverse light bulbs so I installed them and I can already see they are soooo much brighter than OEM. Can't wait to back up later when it gets dark : )

4. Was all set to cut my rear heat lines and run rubber heater hose in the area where they are severely corroded but realized there were more rusted out spots than I thought so I need to put that off until I can buy more hose. Will probably just end up removing the whole thing and replacing it with soft line now.

5. Found one of my annoying rattles to be a loose bolt on the skid plate so tightened that up nicely. One rattle down, ten more to find/fix!

6. Removed one sticker...added another.

Made a deal with another member on an OME 906/60028 setup. Acquiring the lift parts is done, now just need to find some time to install it all. Next up is deciding which wheel/tire combo to get...too many choices!

I mounted my Track Decal shackle mounts, painted my D-rings and installed an LED in my cargo area light. Yesterday I installed some 1/4" spacers and tried to replace my rear shocks. Unfortunately the top bolt wouldn't budge so I said screw it and had a beer instead.

Wash, wax and installed the back bumper. I believe that other than a roof basket, I'm done. I like the way it drives now with new wheels/tires and the speedo is actually accurate now.

How was the kit to install? Are you running off your washer fluid reservoir, or a dedicated tank? Straight water or water/meth (what percentage?)? I've been looking at a pre-turbo/post turbo dual nozzle setup instead of an intercooler lately. Being able to add meth is like an extra injector setup for me, I can add fuel without having to mess with the ecu to control the fuel system!

I wanted something plain to replace my rusting stock bumper, so I decided to build one myself. I don't "off-road" with my truck, so I didn't need a big and heavy bumper. This is what I came up with over a weekend with tubing I had laying around the shop. My only criteria was that it ended up flush to the body and didn't leave any sort of gap. I wanted it have a clean and finished look when you opened the tailgate. Dropped it off at a friends powdercoating shop and got it back this afternoon. Its done in a dark charcoal metallic and looks pretty good. I chose that color because I was going to have my stock wheels done at the same time, but since found a set of take-off FJ wheels and couldn't pass up the deal.

Next week the front bumper..............maybe.

Home Depot cheapo washer fluid is a cheap source for 50/50 water/meth, with some blue dye in it. When do you have the progressive controller start spraying, and max out at?

I installed some new brake bulbs... License plate bulbs... Replaced my MAF...

That's it, I think. Drove it to go snowboarding today and yesterday, loving the 7th injector. Drive-ability and fuel economy have gone up dramatically.

I also ordered a CB (Cobra 75), CB Antenna (4ft Black Firestik 2), and Wade vent-visors.

Well, Sunday...

Reconfigured the mounting and hoses of the tranny cooler, so it was tucked in closer to the condenser. This gave me enough room to squeeze in the M8000.
I've wanted a Warn winch since I was a kid....My wife didn't understand the joy this gave me:shrug:
