What did you do with your 4runner today?

Yeah haha all in fair play and for the sake of entertainment. I would have though someone would have called me out on here for faking it. As soon as he sent me the pics I knew I had to show you guys. It's good to know that people will give good advice for something such as drivability/safety. That truck will not be safe to drive at all. As far as a drop bracket lift, I'm not into them personally for a 4R. It works on domestic 1/2 ton trucks because they aren't as capable off road so they just lift them for the mall curbs they traverse. For the money I just think the money could be better spent on a better suspension to actually off road, but to each their own. :boxer:

What did it cost for the replacements? Mine are shot and I am deciding if I want to replace them or custom fab a hood support and mount and never have to worry about them again. Thanks!

45 bucks on Ebay. Hell for stout too.. :rockon: You pull the lever and hood practically opens itself, then close to full open slowly comes to a halt.. :frog:

I was gonna be the one to call shenanigans, but after everyone started chiming in with advice, I just wanted to see how far you'd take it. I especially like the part about 35" Mud Graps, lol. Yeah, folks here are always helpful when it comes to lending out opinions and advice, whether it was solicited or not. This is a good forum.

There was this one notorious forum troll that created a fake profile a while back posing as a rich guy, wanting to know what to buy his spoiled son. The thread went on for a long time and I just sat back shaking my head. I guess I've just been good at spotting BS when I see it. It was really funny though.

Did the 3 and 9 o'clock test on my front wheels. I need to replace my inner tie rods yet again. Only got 4 months out of my current set. That sucks!

Recharged my AC yesterday (forget if I posted that). It's nice to have icy cold AC now

ever thought about heims? Since you apparently blow through them. Id also suggest maybe your suspension/tire choice is to blame. But Tie Rods i guess works to blame.

so you just replaced the inner tie rod's and the 9-3 play went away the first time?

I was planning to just replace the whole rack and pinion to stop the front end vibrations I'm getting

I just bought two inners from autozone. $70 bucks with a lifetime replacement. I figure if I chew through them, might as well have a lifetime warranty. Kinda like my brake calipers. They seize every winter, so screw it, I went with autozone calipers. They seize, I pull them off, take them to the store, and I'm walking out the door with new calipers for no additional cost

yeah the air probably did it.

I had/made heims for my last truck. Worked great except when i went to Pismo, would always have to take them off and clean them because of the sand.

Those look awesome! My issue is the inner tie rod uses a ball joint. I don't know if I could make a linear heim joint.

Having a heim for the outers though would be cool!

heims, like uniballs have the ability to squeak and since you live in the salt belt im not sure how long they'd last up there. But here where maybe some salt water air touches them its no problem.

I've always wanted to try these out on my last project, but never got around to it. And now my 4runner has no heim joints to try it out on lol.

I'm going to use these on the heims for my homemade rear sway bar end links. Was always curious to see how well they'd work. I'll def post up a review after I get some miles on them.

I wish I had invested in something like these, I always drooled over the Dmax store HD rods. I made my own sleeve and still managed to bend a rod in my Silverado.
