What did you do with your 4runner today?

Plugs and Seafoam seemed to help alot for MPG in mine. Go slightly high on tire pressure too.

My drop that I did was just due to them tires, 18mpg was even with the lift.

Try cleaning MAF, doing the sea foam, plugs, running gear fluids.
Maybe even go back to the stink bug look again. :hiding:

sadly just did all that. bupkiss. Also i have put some thought to lifting the rear, not that itll have any effect on MPG but just to complete the look overall.

i've done everything i know of to make it better besides aftermarket intake and exhaust. I dont get it, guess ill just live with it. Fairly disappointed with it as my last vehicle (which i sold after buying this) was on 36x15.5s and had a 4.7 v8, was also lifted ten inches and got 18mpg. Somewhat regret it.

I've been curious about regearing ever since I got my 285's. Tranny downshifts a lot going uphill on the freeway, when it didn't before. And it feels slower. But I'm also toying with the idea of trading up to a V8. And to think I had this crazy idea that I shouldn't buy another V8 as my 2nd vehicle. :bounce:

Replaced OE Bridgestone Duelers with a set of brand spankin' new Michelin LTX M/S2 tires. Went to Costco to use $70 off coupon, but their computer system was down and they wouldn't use their feet to see if they had any in stock. Went another 1/2 mile down the road to Discount Tire. They had 4 in stock at a shade less than Costco, plus they honored my $70 Costco coupon by taking the discount off the total price instead of making me mail in a rebate request that results in a Visa debit card.

I hate those damn rebate/Visa debit cards. They expire after a year and, in my house at least, have a habit of getting forgotten. Eric at Discount Tire agreed, so he just gave me the discount right on the spot. Also, I prefer going to DT instead of Costco for free tire rotations. Nice waiting area with coffee, cushy chairs and decent car magazines. Kudos to Discount Tire.

I learned about discount tire when my usual place scratched a brand new set of aftermarket wheels that I bought for my GTO. And this was after I explained the wheels were staggered and it mattered which wheel and tire were mounted together. They screwed it up and scratched my wheels. So I sought out Discount Tire and loved the place. I have since bought a new set of tires, sent them a customer, as well as replaced two tires using them. They are great to do business with.

Took a step backwards...

Decided I had more suspension than I needed and I knew someone who could use a better one so I pulled the OW/Radflo front COs off, cranked em up, and put em on [MENTION=72620]A_HuL[/MENTION] 's truck. We put a set of 5100s set at 0.85" with his FJ coils on mine.

We planned to do the rear as well but ran into some problems getting his stuff off as well as getting the COs cranked up..

Thank goodness we weren't planning on reusing those... Couldn't get either top nuts to loosen so we broke the holding tab off the driver's side, then had to cut the shafts in half to remove the coils and had to cut the nuts off to remove the top hats...

How difficult was the reverse film? Been worried about trying it

Pretty easy. We just took the old stuff off with a razor and used acetone to remove the old gunk. Then Used a spatula to slowly smooth the film out. It only has one way that it works, so make sure you cut it to size "with the grain" if you know what I mean

I've been wanting to go back to 5100s for some time, [MENTION=44866]ARK_SWAMP_RIDER[/MENTION] can confirm that I was talking about how I'd been wanting to do it for a while, and that was back in March.

Adam needed a better suspension and we were able to work out a deal where he got a very nice suspension to go with his bumper instead of piecing together a cheaper one. And rather than searching for FJ springs and top hats, I just swapped his stuff over.

Sounds like a sweet deal for the both of you. The only reason I still have the LR UCA's and Icon on the front is because I"m running 3.5" lift, if I was 2.5" or under I'd be doing the same, just no need for the higher end stuff.
