What did you do with your 4runner today?

Changed the oil and adjusted my headlights after installing HIDs. Took it for a spin around my 1 mile block when I was done and hit my first deer with the runner.

Needless to say... 4Runner-1 Deer-0
 
No damage at all! Last time I hit a deer was with a Saturn and I totaled the car as well as a $2900 kayak that was on the roof at the time so I'm quite pleased! The only damage was some hair stuck along the tire bead and deer snot on my bumper. Took it to the car was today so it's good as new. Part of me was hoping the front was smashed up so I could look into some toys from Shrockworks! :wink2:

They can be removed, reinstalled and retorqued and if you're worried use threadlocker. It's a much easier way. Try it next time and save the headache and time. Regardless of method, when you lift it, it will need an alignment..

What are the torque specs on these two bolts?

You can separate the ball joint or take out the two bottom bolts and put them back together without affecting alignment... adding lift (or lowering) coils or a spacer changes the geometry and requires an alignment adjustment regardless of how it was separated.

I've removed and reinstalled the bottom bolts a couple of times without worry of them "coming loose" over time... they hadn't come loose in the 70,000 miles prior to my first suspension upgrade! ;-)

I think that either way is fine, but undoing the bottom bolts is pretty easy and eliminates the risk of damaging the boots on the ball-joints.

picked up right rear roof rack cover. the guy at parts said a lot of people are buying them. i think that toyota should replace them free if not have them cheaper
 
Wow! Gas is cheap in Cali now. Paid $4.79/gal a couple of months ago on vacation in San Diego! Just paid $3.28 today at Costco here in AZ.

Where in Mass? In the Andover/Haverhill area it has been less than $3.55 for the last 2 months pretty much. It's AWESOME!

Welcome to the forum too by the way. Tell us about your truck! If you want to mod or wheel, there are PLENTY Toyota owners around your area. I don't have a garage but my driveway is pretty damn effective lol
