What did you do with your 4runner today?

Roof rack had my bike trays on it and was covered with Christmas lights. Plywood wouldn't have gone anywhere. And it might have affected my reaction time a little, but not anymore than you searching for a song on your iPod.

Couldn't. I drew everything out on butcher paper beforehand and needed every square inch if that wood to fit the pieces. Cutting it in half would have required me to buy more

I like that... planned out to minimize waste.

To be honest, I wasn't sure how you were going to fit in there once the plywood was in place. Looked like you had to scrunch way down.

Well I didn't get to tow the smart car, but I did get to tow a camry! FUN!!!

Ugh tell me about it. All my friends with little front wheel drive sh*t boxes come down my driveway and can't get back out. I have to drag em out all the time. My driveway melts during the day and refreezes into a big 'ol steep sheet of ice at night. 4WD FTMFW

Not worth my time. The lights weren't expensive and the rack would be too expensive to ship. The trade was spur of the moment anyway. They wanted all the other stuff (ie: hybrid conversion) left on it.

Edit: Well my police job is a 50 mile commute daily and the wife just started nursing school so in an effort to cut back on expenses I traded it for a 2008 Honda Accord ex with 25k miles on it. Dropped my payment 150 a month and have a warranty to a hundred thousand miles. Plus I get 35 MPG highway. I have a sneaking suspicion I'll be back in a few years with a set of 5th gen keys in hand. But we'll see.

Good luck and be safe in your job. It's a rewarding profession that I enjoyed doing for 27 years. Also good luck to your wife and her new career. My wife just finished her BSN and is currently working as a Critical Care Nurse. Funny how our rides and careers are so similar (my daily driver is a 2007 Honda). It's been good having you around here and on 120.
