I
attempted to go for a ride, but the plow hasn't come since last night before midnight and the snow was too deep.
This is after I'd already pulled halfway down the driveway, changed my mind when I saw the snowbank blocking access to the road, and backtracked into my original spot:
My trusty co-pilot didn't seem to understand why we got in the car, went about 100', and put the car away. She stayed in the car for about two hours before I finally went back out to coax her out of the car, but she's determined:
Clearly she doesn't speak, but if she could she'd be saying "Seriously, get back in the truck and take me someplace."
This is looking back up the driveway after I'd walked past the point where I decided against trying to bash my way through the snowbank and backed back up. The chin of my rig was pushing quite a bit of snow as I went down anyway so there's a chance I could have highsided before I even made it to the road if I'd pushed it:
And this is the snowbank that spooked me into waiting for the plow to come before I venture out to survey the scenes around here:
Not sure how much perspective this gives on the depth of the snow here, which is about 24":
Here's another one:
I think she's sick of me taking pictures:
I'm going to head out and try to snowshoe up Pack Monadnock as soon as the damn plow comes and I'll try to update with some better shots later.
