What did you do with your 4runner today?

- I removed the spare tire lowering/lifting mechanism as the cable is pretty frayed. My intent was to rebuild it with a new cable but after looking at it closely, I'm fairly confident that it was designed as a one-use part. I'm not gonna get raped by the stealership for a new one - if I can't source one for under $100 then I'll just wait until I fab a custom rear bumper and build a spare carrier onto it.

- I also disabled the TPMS per the write up here: TPMS Bypass How-To

- Also replaced the parking light bulbs with LED units I scored off Ebay for a couple bucks. Definitely look cleaner with the blacked out headlight housings.

- Also replaced the map lights, door lights, and license plate lights with 20 and 24 SMD LED lights - much brighter and a lot cleaner looking.

- I attempted to replace the glove compartment light but no joy. The old one was burnt out and neither of the new replacement bulbs worked - seems like the socket is dead. I'll have to address that some other time.

Installed my Demello bumper. It went really smooth, had the factory bumper off and the new bumper on in an hour.

Then I realized the hood wouldn't shut. Debated for about ten minutes on whether to grind on the bumper or the grill...plastic is easier to work with than 3/8 in steel. I had to cut the plastic part off of the bottom and now it closes.

My only complaint on the bumper, aside from that it is fantastic.

Might need to start a new poll on what you will tear up next.....lol:roadkill:

Hahahaha! :rockthrow:

I just prowled around slowly and stopped by the state forest for some pics :)

And no, I did not roll it over!

Went to Hardee's and the lady at the drive thru gave me a damaged cup and I went to pick it up out of the cup holder and coke went all over and inside the console.

I did this a couple of weeks ago with a large duncan doughnuts iced coffee. Put the straw in and bam cup disingrates. FML

and when I launch it out the window and hit the drive through window the kid askes "Do we have a problem" I give him the death look as coffee is driping from my interior roof. :gun6:

did you get anything out of it?

I once had an XL dunks cup that was cracked when they handed it out. I noticed the leaking and I parked, brought it in, and cracked it more when I put it on the counter so I could recreate what just happened to my cup holder.

I got some gift cards and a pound of coffee. I'm happy

I attempted to go for a ride, but the plow hasn't come since last night before midnight and the snow was too deep.

This is after I'd already pulled halfway down the driveway, changed my mind when I saw the snowbank blocking access to the road, and backtracked into my original spot:

My trusty co-pilot didn't seem to understand why we got in the car, went about 100', and put the car away. She stayed in the car for about two hours before I finally went back out to coax her out of the car, but she's determined:

Clearly she doesn't speak, but if she could she'd be saying "Seriously, get back in the truck and take me someplace."

This is looking back up the driveway after I'd walked past the point where I decided against trying to bash my way through the snowbank and backed back up. The chin of my rig was pushing quite a bit of snow as I went down anyway so there's a chance I could have highsided before I even made it to the road if I'd pushed it:

And this is the snowbank that spooked me into waiting for the plow to come before I venture out to survey the scenes around here:

Not sure how much perspective this gives on the depth of the snow here, which is about 24":

Here's another one:

I think she's sick of me taking pictures:

I'm going to head out and try to snowshoe up Pack Monadnock as soon as the damn plow comes and I'll try to update with some better shots later.

On Craigslist. The person had them listed for $600 at first then dropped it down to $250 with 4 tires. He just wanted them gone to make more room in his garage.
