What did you do with your 4runner today?

I too, am going to a different set of tires after my Duratrac's wear down. Due to balancing issues and my friend cursing me for having to balance these tires.
 
A new addition to the 4runner. Well not really but it looks great behind it.

Took a 2300 mile round trip to pick it up this weekend. The 4runner is very happy with her.

Sounds like km2's are gonna be the next set. 59lbs for 285's, 5lb difference. Plus the 305's have more tread depth.

Just get the 295/70/17 STTs...best of both worlds in a larger size without much added weight. I just had mine rotated today with about 3k miles on them and they are wearing great and evenly. I'm happy with them so far...haven't got stuck in any mall parking lots yet.

Seriously, they haven't let me down yet and i've put them through sketchy trails/fields in the mud. Granted, I can't speak to their rock handling as I haven't done any crawling with them. That's more of a Western thing with all of your awesome, scenic rock trails out there (not jealous at all...Ha).

Any ideas of what to do with the wires when I take my limited running boards off? Anyway I could still use my led 194's in something to light the ground under the truck?

I just tucked the wires into a hole on the frame rail. they come out from time to time lol but you could zip tie them in there. I had plans to wire some lights to them even took the harnesses out of the limited running boards thinking of using it just haven't gotten around to it.

The thing to do would be to wire the power lead to an switch so you could turn it on when the doors closed as well.

The skinny KM2's did really well in the deep snow Saturday. I'm really pleased with them but I'm going to try 235/85/16 Dura Tracs on the Taco. better all-round tire than the KM2's I think.

Oh man I love these Duratracs! They chewed right through the snow without a problem! The only reason I got stuck is I fell through an ice bank and ended up on my frame rails. Other than that, these improperly worn down and balding tires were effortless

I like absolute stuff, dude I want those tires, I have these Falken wildpeak ATs and they dont seem agressive enough for my taste, I guess the 18 inch rims I bought kind of make it hard to find good tires because I wanted those and I couldn't get them in my size. I already regret selling my stock wheels.

18s really limit your options in the offroad world, even having 17s is pushing what you can find for tires. I love the 285's but they're killin my wallet on gas. I like having big meats on constantly instead of having to swap over every time I wanna have fun. I'm thinking about 265/75 Duratracs.

I just installed some interior LED lights. Nothing special, I know, but I don't know why I waited so long. Definitely a must!

I also did the front doors, I'll be doing them all shortly. Note the map lights are not turned on in either picture.
 
Replaced the old mobil 1 diff fluid with redline. I probably pushed the mobil one to hard or more than I would like too as it was a year old and was road coursed four times, and auto x'd 15 times in addition to the dd obligations my truck is subjected too. I need to make a habit of changing it more frequently.
