What did you do with your 4runner today?

Please do....my correct UCA's will be here this week, so hopefully this weekend I will have time to put them on. need all the tips possible.

it's really not that hard. just go ahead and remove the battery when you begin to allows the driver side UCA bushing mount bolt to slide all the way out.

the passenger side had enough room to finagle it around the power steering reservoir hoses to get the job done.

a ball joint fork definitely does the trick to break loose the old upper ball joint from the spindle. and set the new ball joint to where the SPC engraving in the plate above the ball joint is facing out. That will set your caster back to factory settings if your sitting on a 3" front lift. You will have to check the adjustment chart to set it at something different.

Also pulling the camber adjustment all the way to the outside of the slot sets you closest to zero camber (or perhaps right at it depending on your alignment setup you will have to get an alignment after install just to verify everythings back on point.)

I spent maybe an hour an half putting them on, i took a lot of beer breaks though and my rubber shrouds that keep debris out of the engine are no longer in the way they've ripped off since the body lift lol.

Following up on wax job the other day, this morning I detailed weather stripping by carefully vacuuming out all the sand (silica) from inside the threashold rubber and applying protectorant over all rubber. If not removed periodically, that sand will cut right through and ruin weather stripping. All five doors and engine compartment. Also lubricated door hinges and latches. And then did the same thing for wife's vehicle. Good for another year.

I was impressed how easy the UCAs were to install. It all went very smooth. I have the SPC facing out which is +2 caster and then now my camber is pretty much towards inside edge.

Replaced the AutoZone battery with a massive capacity Diehard Platinum Marine battery. This it the mother of all batteries. And yes, it fits...barely. I had to reroute a few cables. The stock battery holder does work with this.

I opted to do this instead of the dual battery setup. I can run my ARB fridge all night and the truck will start the next morning.

whats the cca of the new battery you got...and any idea of the cca of the original toyota battery?

Started a number of projects on my other car, haven't done much to the 4Runner recently, but I did pick up a set of 9005 HID's with harness for my high beams and an optima yellow top that I need to get around to installing one of these days

Ordered my Toytec Ultimate Lift & Pro Comp 7105 wheels 17x8 today. Now to go find a deal on Duratracs!

I read somewhere that goodyear was having a big sale this past weekend... too bad you didn't see the post in the General Discussion section :(

Yeah I saw something about that. I still got a decent deal. $246/tire, half-off mount/balance, plus 2 VISA prepaid cards worth $110 : $50 America's Tire, & Goodyear $60.

Also decided to buy their "Replacement Certificate" so when I pop my super-thin Duratrac sidewalls on the trail, I can go get new ones. LOL

Amazon has free shipping on tires in stock

I'm a total Amazon addict (Prime member), & they usually get my money, but can't always win. Amazon price $276. Although, I'm building up a lot of my recovery gear on there & my cart/save-to-buy is getting really FAT!

Gave it a much needed bath, then went on to edit my never ending spreadsheet a bit more. Finally narrowed it down to either the Mickey Thompson MTZ, or BFG KM2. Now to decide if I want Steelies in a 16 or 17. Ahhh decisions, decisions. :noidea:

I like the MTZ sidewalls better. KM2s are soft tires, i really like these MTZs. Second set i've had of them.

Gave Plasti Dip a try today, I must say I really like it. The gray on the bumper was showing it's age, it was chipped in quite a few places so decided I'd try blacking it out. I sprayed the lower center portion of the front/rear bumpers. Gonna see how that holds up and probably do the rack as well.

Then went and picked up a set of 16" steel wheels from a 2012 Tacoma for free, gonna mount some A/T tires on them for my dad's 87 (which I'm slowly restoring to road ready condition).

Cleaned around underneath

And I came across these
Are they the trans cooler lines?
Mine did have the tow package/option
