What did you do with your 4runner today?

Just got my car back from the shop with the gibson cat back installed. I feel like ive been driving a prius for the past two years compared to how it sounds now.

got a few steps closer to being ready to paint my new bumper, added a front brush guard to protect a light bar, and corrected a fitment issue with the turn signals (holes got cut to big from the mfg. just had to weld in some filler rings)

I've always thought the 4R looks more off-road worthy with the cladding. It probably is better for fending off scratches & dents too. I've always liked it.

Neil, there was not too many other cladding runners where I am, so it stood out from the painted ones. I really liked it, I seen one in grey and that looked good grey with grey cladding. It was super easy when somebody decided to marry my left side rear bumper with a concrete pole, I only had to buy a new cladding piece and that was it! No painting no fuss
I do agree on the scratch and dent part. I had not one dent and it did not scratch easily.
But now it is gone...:cry2:

Custom'ish rear end links DONE! :faint: Those end link to sway bar bolts/nuts were a biotch to get off; They were totally seized up, had to PB blast the hell out of them, and not having my power tools made things harder doing them by hand.

Just in time for this weekend's camping trip. :roll:

Just one observation. You seem to have an extra washer on the upper part of the link. Didn't know if that was intentional or not

Yeah, it's a nice cheap upgrade and yes, I put it there as the OEM link had the bottom bushing sandwiched with 2 washers also and because I had extra bushings and washers left over. :tongue1:

I'm might get a front and rear carrier from a manual FJ. That way I will bump from 3.73 to 3.93 and I will have the rear e-locker! Minimal modifications and much cheaper than an ARB setup!

Just have to save up ~$1,000 for the front and rear.

If I can't find a manual FJ carrier, I'll get one from an auto and keep the 3.73's. Only $600 for the rear carrier with e-locker.

Then I need to hack the wiring to get it to engage when I want it to. I'm excited!

Finally got my center diff lock button relocated to the center console. Now I can fit my 5 position switchplate on the left dash.

Only $58 shipped from trdparts4u.com. Seems these are the only option for those of us with Bilsteins. I emailed ICON but haven't heard back, plus another member said ICONs wouldn't fit.

The FJ guys say yes. I'm just surprised us 5100 owners don't have many options. I'll let you know firsthand when I get mine.

The rear 5100 lower mounts are MASSIVE! I'm glad I'm switching to my fox 2.0's soon. I'm missing a bushing though :/

Test fitted a friends 255/85/16's on our rig today to see if they'd fit and it looks like there's no issue.

Gonna put on another friends 34's on 17" FJ Steelies next week and drive and flex a bit to see how they work.
