What did you do with your 4runner today?

Only $58 shipped from trdparts4u.com. Seems these are the only option for those of us with Bilsteins. I emailed ICON but haven't heard back, plus another member said ICONs wouldn't fit.

Thanks for the link! Yeah, I looked into the ICONs as well and I don't think the they are going to clear the Bilsteins. They mount up pretty close to the shaft so even if it was able to clear the round shock mount on the Bilsteins, the rubber boots might rub against the shin guards.

Please do update us after you get the Rockteks and tell us how they fit

Yeah I think the guards could rub on the boots...not good.

Daniel - keep us updated. I would like to install the 255-80-17's next go around. But obviously don't want to deal with clearance issues.

Yeah, pretty easy. Just extending the 4 wires about 5 feet and running behind panels. Definitely a solder job. I wouldn't trust crimp connectors for this one.

We're running full Ironman suspension, but I can't see why they wouldn't fit whatever. However our armor was made by Digger w/Outrider Offroad so it might be a little different. Here's a few low res-pics:

Very cool, I'm gonna do that so all our lights can be in a row. I don't know why this wasn't done from the factory this way.

You bet I will. I'm excited to see, cause the 4th Gens T4R greatest flaw is the lack of ground clearance.

Daniel, looks like your armor works well, plus it looks great in yellow! While we're hijacking this thread with armor, what do you guys think of Stainless Steel armor? I'm considering the BudBuilt rear differential cover in SS ($85 extra for SS), and maybe the full 5-piece in SS ($750 more for SS!!!!!!!). Actually, powdercoating would be $35 for the diff, & $239 for the 5-piece, so the difference is actually "only" $561. I like the idea of not having to repaint scuffs to protect the steel. It's a ton of money but may be well worth it. Thoughts?

Thank you and yes it works very well! SS sounds like a great idea, but SS weighs more I believe and Buds full skids already adds 80+ lbs. If weight and money aren't an issue for you then go for it. I like the idea of no maintenance from from rust. I did just think, does SS beat out as well as regular steel (from dents)?

Finished the dual battery install.

Dual Duracell AGM group 34's mounted with the DirtyParts tray and wiring. mounted my ARB compressor in front of the battery. Just enough space, but had to it rotate it forward to clear everything.

I would rather get aluminum. It might not take as many hits as the SS, but lighter and still no maintenance. I actually think I will be doing aluminum since I don't rock crawl.

But I just can't give up 1/16" ground clearance! LOL... Seriously though, AL might be a consideration since it's the same upcharge & I don't plan on any serious rock crawling either. I wonder what the difference in weight is between steel, SS, & AL?

I would like to maintain some performance, but if I go all out, could one day supercharge the V6 . I would think SS is less malleable than mild steel. BTW, just 'liked' your FB page. Love the good stuff you're doing!

If you're going for the upcharge, go aluminum. I have the Ricochet aluminum LCA skids and I love not worrying about rust when I hit rocks. It's wonderful!
