What did you do with your 4runner today?

Do not heat them in the oven for 10 minutes. Preheat the oven to 250 then turn it off and put them in for 10 minutes. If you leave the oven on and put them in you risk melting the lens and housings. You just want it to be hot enough to make adhesive loosen up.

i melted my tail light doing this. I had moisture and only put it in for a second too long. Oh well, got LEDs out of it.

The tail lights are easy to melt, I tried to bake mine open since no one else had done it and the lens got a flat spot before the glue even began to loosen.

I like a little more heat to help the lens separate a bit better/easier.

I put the lights on a piece of cardboard to prevent melting the light with the wire rack

What about taking a heat gun around the seal? As opposed to baking the entire light?

Got a call from Metaltech asking me to verify that I wanted their Radflo extended travel rear springs without their progressive rate coils. They said that they are designed to be used together so my question is, will the all pro 3.5 coils still work fine with the extended travel shocks?

assuming you mean extended travel shocks not springs, yeah, you'll be fine. Austin (@Aha2988) runs that same set-up (2.5). Works great. I think they wanted to make sure that you would have a coil that would optimize the shock travel. The AllPro's will. Hope that helps.

got the idea to make fog light rock guards. just have to wait until next school year so my brother can get them 3D scanned for me.

is this something anyone would be interested in? and if so any ideas on design?

i might make them as an insert or a whole new trim piece but i dont know yet.
might just go with an insert because of a lower cost.

the reason im having them scanned is to have a good fit so they are just a push fit from the back side of the stock trim

until then i might just make a set out of metal mesh and see how that looks

Kinda late to respond but, I would have probably gone with the progressive rate coils had I bought everything in a kit. The all pro's do the job though. I just wouldn't mind having a little stiffer spring when hauling trailers

I bought a set earlier this year after getting tired of people (primarily vertically challenged people ha) complaining about how hard it was getting in and out of the back seats. They definately help and look good IMO. I got black ones too so they blend in better. I bought mine for $12 but can't remember the name brand...i'll check at lunch.
